Title: Logistics for the June 29th game
Post by: agustaaquila on May 19, 2013, 01:02:06 AM
This is posted the same day as the game, but for the next game to be of the appropriate scale then we need to do some logistics.  The next game will be quickstrike, and I am working on a primer to be up by the end of the month.  What I need is everyone to post a list of all mechs they have painted in SLDF or RWR colors.  For reference, SLDF colors are dull green, but any green will really work.  RWR colors are red, white and blue.  Please get these lists up asap.  thanks.

If we're also allowing the black and red RWR paint scheme, then I can contribute a Spider, Jenner, Kintaro, and Black Knight.  I hope to get a few more mechs painted up in time for the next game, but I'm both slow and bad at painting, so don't expect much.

You may have to settle for whatever anyone has painted. I have only a couple painted in green and as far as red, white and blue, forgetaboutit. Maybe, just list what minis would be needed and the group can work from there. I myself, am busy with a comission and for Gencon.

Yes, after talking to rob, slight change.  I would like an era listing of all legal mechs, and also an approximation of their color scheme.

Please do not list your PC mechs, you will need those for your PC   ;D

Do you want me to include completely unpainted minis?

All right.  I need RSVPs for EVERYBODY who WILL be there.  This is a 100% commitment, because of the level of logistics necessary here.

At this time, we have 16 companies worth of period-appropriate minis.  There IS the potential to scrounge for more; I'm not using a fair number of the minis that were posted in this thread yet (Bryan, Steve, and Phil will all have assignments to bring units at this time), so if we end up with more than 16 people, that's OK.  I THINK we can swing for a maximum of 20 companies on the board at once, if needed.  That's 20 total players.

Likewise, I need people to who normally bring NPCs to make sure that those NPCs will be here, and I need them RSVP'd for in this thread as well.

You have until June 12th to RSVP, so if we need to pick stuff up at Origins, we'll have the ability to do so.  (Bryan, you're good, thank you.)

Rob, not sure I follow all the codes in the QS thread.  I noticed though that several folks have an SRM entry.  Does mine not have one because it's a single SRM 4 or that it's factored directly into the damage profile?

It's sort of both.  If a missile launcher can deal a small amount of damage, it gets factored into the profile.  if it reaches a threshold, you end up with the SRM Trait.

Observe the difference (scroll down for the QS card stats):

Griffin -2N (x2 SRM-6): http://www.masterunitlist.info/Unit/Details/1299/griffin-grf-2n

LIST OF MINIS PEOPLE NEED TO BRING

I'd like to thank everybody who volunteered to help with this.  I don't think anybody has done a fight of this size yet, and I'm glad we're the first to try it.  Bring those hi-res cameras on next Saturday!

Don't worry about the variants; I'm copy-pasting out of my master logistics document for this instead of typing 100 individual Mechs out.

Those little card sleeves we use for Warmachine?  Yeah, I need a LOT of them.  Like, 250.  If you guys can each do a count a figure out among yourselves (or if somebody just has 250, bring 250 of them), we'll need them for the game.

EVERYBODY
Mapsheets!  Specifically, Coastline 1 & 2, Dock, City mapsheets, Clear terrain mapsheets, and classic BattleTech mapsheets!  Bring ALL of them.

As a side note, the coastline mapsheets are 90-degrees off of where we needed them to be, so we're going to be having them angled to the side and with a 1/2 map of clear terrain between them and the "dry land" mapsheet, which means we need more maps than I originally anticipated.  So if you're in doubt about whether to bring a mapsheet or not, bring it, please.

NOTES
a) Sorry about any misspellings.  In my defense, it's 3am.

b) We currently have 18 companies worth of Mechs prepped for this.  If you are bringing people, I need to know ASAP - with a FIRM commitment - so we can make sure we have a unit for them.  As you can see, there are only 4 unclaimed slots.  Note that we can have EVEN MORE companies prepped and ready (I think we'll end up topping out at about 20 though, because we can't fit more people at the tables), but we need to know ahead of time.  Like, noon on Wednesday at the absolute LATEST.

Please, if you're bringing other folks, PLEASE RSVP them.

That's a good idea.  Try a dry-erase on them.  If there's no residue, then we can use those.

Er...in this case, I honestly don't know.  I was going to request people ACTUALLY get to the store at 10am (with Mike and I getting there at 9:30 so we can put cards in sleeves in the food court), and I don't know how long this will go.  I can estimate how long a BT game will take relatively well, but I simply don't have enough experience to say on how long a QS game will go.

Moreover, I can't guarantee him a slot at the table; we're pairing up "company v company", and if he doesn't get there until 3pm, either somebody else has to wait for him, or we've got an even number of players and have been going for 4 hours by that point.   :-\

EVERYONE, make sure you've looked over the QS rules, please.  I mean, really looked at them, not taken 5 minutes to skim and say "ok, I looked over them".  Please go over them with any other players you're bringing, if at ALL possible.

I've talked to Patrick and made sure he's clear on expectations. He's going to call the store when he gets off work to find out if he'll have something to do.  Once he knows if he'd be helping out or watching, he'll decide whether or not to show up.

For the love of god, if you own Coast #1 or #1, or City (Residential), City (Skyscraper), or City (Suburbs), or the Clear Terrain maps, BRING THEM.  BRING THEM ALL.

I'm missing about a linear half-inch of maps, and it's all stuff from Map Sets 6 and 7...which, of course, is what we need.

Sorry for the late notice on this, but Drew might be unable to make it to the Saturday game for medical reasons.  He had his wisdom teeth pulled today and unfortunately the operation didn't go quite as smoothly as everyone hoped.  Apparently the base of the teeth had already begun to solidify into bone, which made their extraction a more difficult and involved process than the oral surgeon originally projected.  He's going to be fine, but the recovery process is going to be a little bit longer than normal, so he may not be able to make it to Saturday's game.

I have map set 7, so I'm bringing it, which includes Seaport, Coast #1, and Coast #2. Also Dropport #1 & #2, since they could effectively be used as clear terrain or light city maps.

Also bringing 6 Classic BT maps, and one other empty one with just a few trees.

Now, I've also got lots of the City, Suburb, grid-type maps as well. But they don't have buildings on them, just streets mostly. Additionally, I've got some desert hills and stuff which are mostly empty terrain but not flat. Want any of those?

I have map set 7, so I'm bringing it, which includes Seaport, Coast #1, and Coast #2. Also Dropport #1 & #2, since they could effectively be used as clear terrain or light city maps.

Also bringing 6 Classic BT maps, and one other empty one with just a few trees.

Now, I've also got lots of the City, Suburb, grid-type maps as well. But they don't have buildings on them, just streets mostly. Additionally, I've got some desert hills and stuff which are mostly empty terrain but not flat. Want any of those?

These sort of city maps, Bryan:

Otherwise, sounds good.

Don't have those. But I'll be bringing the rest of what I posted.

I've got the Battleforce and Battleforce2 maps if it's helpful to bring those.

With a sweep of his...

Drew will definitely not be joining us today and I have been unable to secure an alternate player, sorry. I'll see everyone in a couple hours.
