even if putting an air support model on the board is just a marker for your intended target, having an actual model as the marker will go a long way toward increasing gameboard immersion

Well, you put a marker on the target, and then you place the aircraft 18 inches away from it indicating the point at which the aircraft starts it's attack run. While it's true that the aircraft is only going to be on the table for a couple minutes while you resolve the strike... nothing beats seeing the plane on the table imo. :)

Very, VERY cool that you secured a vintage model for yours!! And it looks great!  (^_^)b

And that's hilarious that you started up an OpFor force. I ordered a few German "Blitzkrieg" sprues from Warlord during the recent sale, although they have yet to arrive. It's just no fun having a painted US Airborne force sitting on the table and nothing to face off against.

I too, have Germans. I purchased a Grenadier starter pack about 4 mos. back. Have only assembled a couple squads along with the Stug and a PzIV. Have a couple of Hanomags, still in the boxes. Maybe when I get the British paras finished, will be able to get cracking on the Germans. Been eyeing a Russian starter box, also.
Here is a pic of the airborne, have 2 squads finished along with a MMG team. Posted this on the Warlord forums. Only 1 more squad, piat team, 3" mortar, couple of vehicles, sniper team and maybe an arty piece.

Anyone know if there is an M2 AT/AA gun available in 28mm scale?

Is this what you are referring to? Found nothing yet.

I'm amused we're doing the same unit Rob, for the exact same reasons.  (^_^)b

Somewhat.  I was doing generic 15 pzgrn, armored cars as part of 115. armored recon, troops from 115. Regiment ,and I have hanomags so they would be numbered for 1st company.  Trucks would probably be numbered for 3rd company.   I had not figured out battalion or the like at this point. Things are still mostly in primer right now.

Eyes are hard.
That said, I really like how they turned out.
5 man section, late war german panzergrenadiers with some older clothing mixed in (15. PzGrn).

Finished a first squad and teams! (I know, I'm shocked too).  Oxide primered vees included to keep going with the unfinished theme.  Pics got a little blue from autocorrection I guess.

They are looking good, Travis. Just got a squad back on to the table. Figure it is time to get started on the next army.
Played Brian last night, he kicked my ass royally.

Something slightly different.  Also getting my medieval dudes based and built for when I'm tired of fieldgrau.  Currently in ranks of 5/10 for Warhammer Empire/Freeguild proxies, also good for Normans and 3/4 of the other SAGA armies I think.
