Title: Shadowrun Schedule Thread
Post by: Darrian Wolffe on January 18, 2011, 10:49:48 PM
Just a reminder, our next game is January 26th, when Brett gets back into town.

We'll also be discussing a possible change in day so Rob Jordan can stay with us, so please be there a little early.

It's just been hectic at work lately with the project we've been working on. The good news in that, after this week the part that was keeping me with insane amounts of over time is done, so with next game rolling around I'll be good. :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone back at game tomorrow night.  6:30pm, B/B's house.  Please be there early - I'd like to START at 6:30 at best, and no later than 6:40 at worst.  Rolling up your new PCs following the attack on the UB offices will take a while, after all...  :P

I am actually stuck going to Huntsville again this week - please feel free to have Brent run my character if necessary.

Next game is scheduled for this Wednesday, the 23rd of February, at B/B's place.

If people would like, I'd like to get another game in the next week, March 2nd.  Please PM me if that would be an issue.

Just a reminder, the next game is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 2nd.

If people would like to play on March 9th, we'd need to hold game at my house, as Maria works that night and I need to be there to wrangle both you people AND the baby.  Maria returns from work that night at 9, so it won't be too bad.

I would rather not play on the 9th.  It is Ash Wednesday, and so I have other obligations that night.  But if you all want to get together, that is cool with me.

If nothing else occurs I could bring my copy of Flying Buffalo's "Word of Blake: The Game".

It's always entertaining in groups of ruthless buggers.

Reminder: this week (MARCH 9th) we're meeting at my place as just sort of a "get together and hang out" night.  If you want to come, great.  If not, no worries.  We're looking at maybe some boardgames, or Munchkin, or even the chance to playtest a new Catalyst RPG that I've got lying around.  The party is as 6:30 at my place - 1519 Garrard St., Covington KY 41011.

The easiest way to get here is going to be get off of I-75 on 4th Street (the very 1st exit after the bridge).  Take 4th across Covington to Scott St and turn right.  Take Scott to 16th Street and turn left.  Turn left again on Collins Ave and park all the way down the street on the right in the gravel parking area, just before the brown fence.  Go to the other side of the brown fence and go between it and the detached garage with the open door, through my backyard, and up to my front door (facing Garrard).  Don't go to the side door; we won't hear you.

Phone # is 859-814-8571 if you need help navigating the morass of Covington, or if you've been knocking on the door for a while and haven't gotten in yet.  It's hard to hear knocks on the 3rd floor...

Reminder: there is NO game scheduled this week (March 16th).  We will resume the campaign the following week, March 23rd, at B/B's place as normal.

Our place isn't available this week. I broke Brett 9 months ago and we are
reaping what we sowed as it were. Should have dimensions and at some point a name soonish.

OK, so Shadowrun's out this week.  General gathering at my place for a "hangout" session if anyone's interested.  6:30-ish.  We can break out of CBT, watch a movie, or just bullshit.  Whatever.

Good luck Brent/Brett!

Brett managed to satisfy her primary victory condition. Healthy baby boy, 20 inches, 6 lbs 6 ozs, March 22 at 2111. Apparently birthing is difficult.

Again, due to baby, there will be no Shadowrun this coming week...however, in lieu of Shadowrun, I will be running a special treat:

I have acquired a copy of an L5R adventure - a timed tournament module that takes no more than 4-5 hours (say, from 7-11) - which was rejected for publication by AEG for the following reasons, and I quote DJ Trindle, the line editor here, "I got chills reading this", and "You're not supposed to scare the GM".

Characters will be pregenerated, system will be L5R 1e (for simplicity's sake).  All are invited; please arrive by 6:15-6:30 (as early as possible; the sooner peeps are here, the sooner we can start).  RSVP here, please, by Tuesday noon-ish.

Brett should be up for one shot levels of gaming by next week. We are estimating a month or so until we can get back to Seattle.

Have fun this week. Don't butcher them too badly. And when Rob shows photos or video, that fight was rigged.

I was out being hit in the face by you five days after Arthur's birth. I used my solitary indulgence on that and getting away to Fram next month.

I'll see what she says, but I wouldn't count on it.

OK then - don't worry about it overmuch.

Hey, guys, right now we've got a grand total of 2 people who've responded.  Please give me a heads-up if you'll be here; I'm trying to arrange seating.  Andy, Rob?

I do not think I will be able to make it to game Wed, its the last week of classes and I'm more behind than hoped.  Mike, I hope you can find another way to get down there.
Title: Re: Shadowrun Schedule Thread

I shall not be able to make it.

1) I have no ride down there.  While I like OTR and go biking in it regularly, biking at 2300 is not something I would consider doing.

2) I am feeling crummy.  And its not yet time to introduce the babies to the kindergarten lessen of sharing everything.

Have fun.

All right, I'd like to resume Shadowrun at this point.

CAN ANYBODY NOT MAKE IT TO THE GAME THIS WEDNESDAY?

My schedule has changed, and I have a job now (yey).  Howeer, due to it being in kentucky and having roughly an hour travel time, combined with needing sleep, i need to be in bed no later than 10:30/11 ideally.  This sorta kills my ability to play on weeknights.

Crap.  OK then...I need EVERYONE to post their anticipated weekly schedules so I can see if there's a common block of time in here.  Please do so ASAP.

Erk.

All right, we now have no nights that work - I can't run on Fridays or Saturdays.  Game is on hold this week while we figure out what to do.

If people wanna come over tomorrow night to hang out and discuss what we want to do, you're welcome to do so.

I'm free Friday/Saturday/Sunday barring the needs of hockey and Battletech.  Work is rarely an issue.

Having discussed timing with Rob, Other Rob, Brett, and sundry others...

The current best time/day for us to get the game back up and running again is looking to be Sundays.  Rob indicated a preference for a longer weekly session if possible since I'm wanting to change things up into a rotating GM and system format.

Current options look to be Sunday from 7:00 to 11:00ish or (preferably) 5:00 to 11:00.  The plan is to run an adventure and then switch to a different GM and system, this prevents both GM and system burnout.  This format works best with no more than four systems, current options are below.  The 7:00 start will be necessary if Maria is planning on joining us.  So feedback below please.  Volunteers to run below as well please.

GM/Systems
1) Rob, Shadowrun
2) Brent, Alpha Omega (high tech future with aliens, probably a wilds campaign), Pathfinder (low fantasy mounted chivalry campaign, set in Eosia), DragonQuest 3rd ed. (Emberverse/Changeworld post apocalyptic, set in a modern world where technology stops)
3)
4)

Or should we do this in a different thread?

Regardless, I am considering to play god GM either a d6 Star Wars or Alternity game. Future looks like I will stay here for the immediate future right now.

<shakes location 8-ball again>  <still hazy>

OK guys, Maria's out for the time being.  This Sunday is a holiday of some sort; I suggest we discuss what all we want to do and start this thing on the 15th, with another game on the 22nd, and then off for Memorial Day weekend, and playing again June 5th and 12th (which then gives us a week off for Origins on the 19th).

Thoughts?

Mother's day this weekend Rob. Get Maria a card or something, Eli wasn't hatched you know.

Next week should be good for us. There is even an outside chance that the table will arrive before then. Conservatively why don't we aim for 5:00. If we reach an agreement on systems and such we could probably get the tedious PC gen taken care of.

OK, guys, I suck.  My shooting schedule on Monday just got moved from 4pm to 8am, which means we'll have to drive down past Louisville Sunday night instead of Monday morning.  Which means I'll miss our session.

I suggest having the session regardless.  My vote is for Alpha Omega as our "starter" game, because most of the group has already had a chance to play it and character creation shouldn't be too hard; plus I've already got a PC for the game.  My vote would then be to have Rob run WFRP after brent's AO adventure is over, and then have Brett run something if she'd like.  Finally we come back to Shadowrun; that way we're alternating between Sci-fi and Fantasy genres.  Really, though, I'm not picky about how this will work.  Regardless, I'm VERY much looking forward to this rotating game thing, and will see everybody Saturday the 21st for BattleTech!

Reminder. Meeting at my place at 5:00 PM Sunday. PM me for directions if needed.

If I can get a headcount that would be great since Other Rob and myself are planning on coordinating food. Eating takeout is expensive and sucks. For $5 a head we can feed you lime Demi-royalty.

I shall be there.  I might have to duck out at 7, but thats enough time to discuss things.  I will bring my $5.02, for the food and for what we should play.
