During your approach to the system, your DropShips are approached by an unknown DropShip class on a perpendicular course.  The DropShip passes several thousand kilometers behind you, but you are able to get a good look at it.

Event 2

As you approach the atmospheric barrier for landing, you suddenly come under ground fire by laser weaponry of a type and scale you've never experienced before.

The bay door holds and you pass into the atmosphere, unable to be further attacked by ground batteries.

Event 3

As you pass into the atmostphere, your DropShips are approached by a DropShip on unknown class moving at high speed on a perpendicular course; a clear attack path.  This DropShip is the same class of DropShip as the one which approached you the previous day.  However, as you've entered into the atmospheric band, standard scale weapons cannot hit you and it passes by harmlessly. 

Proceed to ground.
