Character Conversion
1) Non Lance-leader personnel with SPAs which still exist and which they qualify for will not be changed or converted.
2) Each Lance Leader may choose to automatically clear 1 SPA slot, whether that SPA has changed or not, and receive a flat XP refund equal to 25XP.
3) All personnel with SPAs which no longer exist, or SPAs which you no longer qualify for (which - at a minimum - will be everyone with Weapon Specialist) will automatically clear that SPA slot and receive a flat XP refund equal to 30XP per SPA cleared. Personnel may then purchase new SPAs under the normal rules.
4) Finally, after conversion ends, and for the duration of the next contract only (immediately following Operation SPRINGFIELD), the cost to clear a used SPA slot is reduced to 5XP, to better enable people to play around with some of the new SPAs available.
Everyone must create a post containing the SPAs cleared for lance, along with any new SPAs purchased, posted in the CO/GM thread. Conversion will NOT HAPPEN until after the current contract is concluded, but will occur before any marketplace postings for the month following the close of contract (ie, close contract in March; conversion will happen prior to the April Marketplace).
WURM LANCE: I checked over your pilots, none of this will affect you. Don't worry about it.
I'm trying to do this quick and dirty; the more I try to account for exceptions and so forth, the more annoying, impenetrable, and unfair the conversion rules seemed. I am particularly trying to avoid just handing out 90+ XP worth of "free slots" that people can tailor to whatever they want; working with what you have is supposed to be a big thing. Therefore, we're going to run with a simpler, flat-value conversion.

An artillery piece is either a Combat Vehicle or a Support Vehicle, as per its construction base type. A Mobile Long Tom, Marksman, and Thumper, are all examples of artillery being carried by Combat Vehicles.
