Title: General questions
Post by: Hat on August 28, 2012, 01:00:17 PM
I've never played any of the Solaris VII type stuff, nor read any of the fiction that discussed it much.  For the purposes of the battles

1. How many 'Mechs are there per side?
2. What do people do who aren't regulars?  For example, I've got a friend of mine who's coming that hasn't been there before and may not be able to play regularly.  What should he do?
3. I've got my son's soccer game I need to leave for in the middle and then will be back.  I would guess I either don't have matches during that time or that I do and am declared to forfeit them?

Thanks.

Answer to question 1: one on one
2: that would be up to Mike (GM)
                           3: see answer above (2)
It is a tournament style. Usually play against each other at least once. Recieve points per match. Total points at the end of the season, winner.

If a certain Canadian has his way and I do the unthinkable I might be running Leviathans grinders for those that can't play every time. I'm not a huge Solaris fan TBH.

I'm kind of going back and forth on that one myself.

Same here, I'm not big on Solaris at all, but I certainly understand that Rob needs a break.

I've got a couple ideas for Mike to possibly make the Solaris tourney a little more exciting.  8)

Are we talking mixing up the 1v1 with some team battles and free-for-alls more exciting or having the Word of Blake attack happen a few months early more exciting?

Also, I can run some S7 themed btech games on the side for any players who show up to the session, but aren't formally part of the tournament.

Death,

Given that both my friend and I will be here on the 8th, but not the 29th we'll probably take you up on your offer to do non-tourney stuff.  Looks like based on the other thread that just those 2 sessions are set aside for the tournament.
