Title: Iron Painter-2013
Post by: Black Omega on January 26, 2013, 01:10:42 PM
Hey guys, have you finished your entries yet?  I finally got my graded finished and I am now starting on my "cannon."  I hope that I have enough time (RL keeps happening).

Not doing one. Have been in a bit of a funk, lately. Finishing up figs for IWM. May be gearing up for GenCon soon. Also, may have a commission.

I wasnt feeling like painting anything up until today, so I've been madly scrambling to put together something.

Also, a question for anyone who uses Vallejo paints.  Are they supposed to be very very thick out of the bottle, up to and including toothpaste consistency?  I've picked up several colors and all of them are too thick to shake to mix in the bottle, and a few are obscenely thick.

I have never used Vallejo.  I took the cheap route with Americana from Hobby Lobby.  However, I am very happy with them.  Good luck finishing.  I am pretty happy tonight.  I have about finished my "cannon" entry--just a decal and sealing with clear coat to go.

What I have found with the Vallejo is that it needs to be mixed very well and if it is that thick I remove the dropper and add a few drops of water. Then shake. See if that helps.

Yup, agreed.  Vallejo is normally very nice, though, and I far prefer them for flat tones (not metallics or washes) over GW product.

I haven't started anything, and at this point, I'm not sure if I will.

Yeah, my NACFo'Bie is going to come in JUST under the wire, I think.

My January went to car-buying and doing all the logistics work for the levs convention season.
