The campaign finale will be held on October 26th, at Sci-fi City.
Game-on will be at 11am SHARP. Once I've developed the scenario a bit more, I'll be able to better predict when game-off will be, but expect this to go a bit past 5pm this time.
I will be posting further logistical details in this thread as the need for them develops. Please, please, put this on your calendars and ensure you'll be there for this one. I'm giving 2 months notice to ensure that everybody can make it.
There WILL be a need for NPCs. I will clarify that statement further in a later post.
Finally, no, there will NOT be a replacement PC for the late Lieutenant Hannay.
-
Rob,
That's move in weekend for my play and it's very likely I'm going to have to miss the 26th. We already had an agreed upon date in October. Why the change?

Are there any pilots available/not dead from Echo/Foxtrot companies that can be used to fill in the gap or have they all been reassigned already?

Because I was reminded by my wife - brutally - of a pair of obligations I have the weekend of the 5th. One of which was evidently made for me without my prior knowledge or consent. The October 26th game has been on the calendar for quite some time anyway.
EDIT: No, I'm not happy about it.
-
Rob,
I'd missed the fact that the 26th is also a scheduled session. I may have some additionally flexibility given that it's an existing commitment. Let me see what I can do.

Noted. I've got to check the date with the family but this should work out fine.
Now there aren't any further dates in August, correct? Due to GenCon? But what about September, was a date ever locked in?

There is a thread stickied at the top of the forum which may prove interesting. Here, let me Google that for you:

While I'm sure you were entertained by your own comment, my question was based on this post: http://forums.cincybattletech.com/index.php?topic=228.msg4552#msg4552
A post which, to date, has still left open the question of the exact date of a game in September. :P

Because Phil, Dan, and Hat all indicated that September didn't work for them at all, there's not going to be an Apocalypse Rising game in September.

My apologies. I misinterpreted your question as "was there ever a game scheduled for September?" Under that interpretation, I defend my response as legitimate. Given the context of the question is now clear, I'm sorry for the snark.
So at this time, there is a day scheduled for the 7th with Sci-fi City wherein people can get together and play and/or set up stuff for the upcoming campaigns, but as a large portion of the playerbase indicated via post or PM that September was basically a lost cause, it prompted me to move the campaign finale to first the 5th of October, and then the 26th upon pain of divorce threat.
Apologies for the confusion.

Hah, please don't apologize for snark. Otherwise we'll all be apologizing all the time. I took pleasure in semi-throwing your snark back at ya. ;D
That sounds good. Maybe we should grab one of those huge scenarios out of an old source book and play it using Alpha Strike on terrain.

Ok, I reworked things such that the 26th won't be a problem.

As the brother-in-law in question, I agree that it was extremely fun. I definitely enjoyed it -- even with the 2 'Mechs blown up under me, LOL.
Definitely would love to participate again, if you'll let us.

Rob, we're still on for the 26th, correct?

Anything happening here? Been really quiet.
-
I'm writing it. Thread should go up tomorrow.
Having IWM screw up the order of Omegas is unhelpful.
-
The check engine light in my car came on today. The light's solidly on instead of blinking, so its not a catastrophic problem at least. I'm going to drop my car off at the shop tomorrow in order to see what's wrong with it. I should still be able to make it to the game this Saturday, but there's definitely a chance that I might miss the game due to my car breaking down somewhere in northern Kentucky.
-
My son, brother in law, and myself will be there Sat the 26 to be a part of the op force. Looking forward to a great and glorious battle!
-
Car's fine, so I should be there.
-
Glad to hear it, John. I can tell you that I can't I won't be able to stay until 7pm.
-
Andy is coming
-
Drew's going to be there and he's apparently bringing three of his friends from college with him. My friend Brent's also going to be there, so it looks like we're actually going to have a healthy number of OpFor players.
-
Wow, that's awesome!
-
As per his notification, Brent will not be attending, but Brett will.
-
Sorry to hear that Brent won't be there, but glad we'll see Brett.

Hey as of last game I know somebody picked up the mech sheets for some of the pcs. I can not remember who it was off hand if nobody remembers then can someone print off a royal griffin for me?
-
Fantastic last game, Rob. It has been a terrific campaign. I know I can't come close but I will give it my best shot.
-
Just wanted to echo what Steve already said.
Rob, great campaign! You really put a lot of work into it, and it's much appreciated! I hope you can relax and enjoy just playing in a campaign for a little while now. (^_^)b
-
Just wanted to add my kudos as well. Even though I came in roughly half-way through, it seriously rocked! Thank you. Enjoy some well deserved down time.

I have already expressed my appreciation to Rob before I had to leave Sat. I will say again, how much I appreciate the hard work that he puts forth and also it is a pleasure to game with a group that gets along so well. Some can be such pains in the ass and make the game unenjoyable.
Looking forward to the next round of campaigns. Keeps me young. ;)
-
Rob, thanks for all of the hard work you've done over the last two and a half years in order to create and run such a great campaign for all of us.
Everyone else, thanks for being fun to game with. Its seriously rare to find a gaming group of this size that doesn't really have any problem players.
-
This was well worth the time spent. I enjoyed this campaign a lot. I am glad it was my first campaign. The time and effort put into this will by far most likely put this forever as my number one campaign. Thank you Rob for all the hard work.
-
Rob, I read your wrap up. Very nicely done. Again, thank you very much for giving me a chance to participate in such a great game.

Awesome write up Rob, although Biron did get killed during last Saturday's game. Also, I don't know if its worth any sort of special note or not, but I believe that Schwepps is still piloting the same Ostroc he originally combat dropped onto that New Vandeburg moon in over thirteen and a half years ago.
-
And it is still as pristine as the day of that drop. He had his own paint shop towed around with him. :D
