IT IS A TIME OF CIVIL WAR...
By the spring of 3063, hotheads, malcontents, and political powerbrokers across the Federated Commonwealth have brought the realm to a breaking point. The question of the legitimate rulership of the nation can no longer be simply discussed over a quiet coffee, or debated on satirical late-night talk shows to the amusement of the cynical masses. It is clear that this once-great nation is on a collision course with what will perhaps be the bitterest conflict in human history, as brother will again turn against brother, father against son, friend against friend . A day has come when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. An hour of wolves and shattered shields as the mightiest nation in history comes crashing down.
Final Victory will come only to those who dare most.
WHAT WILL YOU DARE TO DO?

Planet Crimond, Lyran Alliance (Federated Commonwealth)
May 7th.
3063
Lieutenant-General Wendell Power commanding the Third Donegal Guard has, on his own initiative unilaterally launched an invasion of Crimond from his garrison on the nearby planet of Pandora. While the abdication of his defensive responsibilities leaves a gap in the Alliance's border with Clan Jade Falcon, he feels he cannot blithely sit by and allow the Davion First Argyle Lancers to abandon their positions and move to support Victor Davion's claim to the throne. If the assault against the Lancers is made quickly enough, the Falcons will never notice that the Third has left their post.
The plan is to launch a rapid assault at the Lancer's base at Fort Beaufort, overwhelm the defenders there while taking the defensive fortifications intact, and then send half of the Third Guards back to Pandora to resume their station. The captured fortifications will allow the Third to hold out against the Falcons if they come calling. The Argyle Lancers are just another one of Victor's lapdog regiments, and without orders from their diminutive dauphin, they'll never expect an attack from their supposed "allies".
Colonel Walter Scully of the Argyle Lancers may be a professional soldier stationed with a unit deep inside the territory of a nation which vocally hates the man he calls his liege lord, but he is not a stupid man. Prior experience with the bombastic and aggressive General Power has given him some forewarning that, with the nation falling into chaos, such an attack may just be a possibility. Quietly, with the aid of a few close friends, he has drawn up plans.
As soon as the Donegal Guards DropShips appeared in-system without an advance notice, Scully recalled all of the Lancers subcommands from their encampments to the world's primary training center and defensive hub, Fort Beaufort. Static minefields guard the approaches to the base, but it's only a matter of time until the Donegal Guards' scouts find their inner perimeter and are able to land the DropShips full of assault troops desparate to rid the world of all support for the Prince of the Federated Suns once and for all. Colonel Scully may not have started this civil war, but it's come to his doorstep, and the only chance he and his men have will be to break the Third Donegal's assault waves on the walls of Fort Beaufort.

OK, folks, we're three weeks out on this game. I really need people to RSVP.
In addition, I'll be putting out a "needs" list for minis. I've got 90% of what I need to run the scenario, but I'm much shorter of - for example - VTOLs, than I thought I was.
Game-on will be (ideally) at 11am on March 14th, though I suspect it'll actually be closer to 11:30 given our track record. Game-off will be at 6pm or as soon as we finish a relevant turn.
-
I plan on being there, probably no later than 5 pm. I have no VTOLs. Sorry.
-
I should actually be able to make it to this game. Drew and one of my other friends are also planning on attending as well.
-
I have four choppers, 2 Warriors, 1 Kestral, 1 MWDA Cardinal. I plan on being there.
-
I will be there.
I've got one hawkmoth vtol available.
-
Logan and I are going to be there.
-
I plan to be there as well.
Out of curiosity, where did you get the map images?
-
OK, we're at 9 people so far. Good. If you haven't RSVP'd yet, please do so.
Out of curiosity, where did you get the map images?
Sarna.net has small images of almost all the maps. I composited them in MS paint and uploaded the resultant final image. Doing this is useful for two major reasons: it makes sure that the map layout on "day-of" is the same as what was originally planned, and it lets everyone look at the map ahead of time and get an idea of the battlefield (which helps gameplay).
It would be even more useful if I had a complete RSVP list and could separate everyone into teams ahead of time, giving each team their operations areas and objectives.
-
I'll be there, but it won't be until probably 1:00 pm. :-\
If that changes, I'll post an update right away.
-
Still trying to figure out if I can make it or not. I'll provide an update when I can.
With a sweep of his hat,
Paul
-
My friends Vinny and Steve can make it as of last night. They will let me know if that changes. Vinny's brother Cort is working on it and will let me know.

Rob, I also have a bunch of generic fighters that can sub for the VTOL's if need be.
-
OK, it's getting to be about that time.
Here's the stuff:
Game on will be at 11AM sharp. Please arrive NO LATER than 10:30AM

-
I'll get the rest.
Rob, I will print the top three groups that are all 3/4.
Thank you both. Please separate them into the groups posted above. Steve, it looks like I can't source any more VTOLs (I *had* two companies - I have no idea where they've gone!); please bring your fighters.
If both of you could get to the store closer to 10 than 11, I'd appreciate it so I have time to go over the sheets and work the scenario prep, I'd very much appreciate it.
-
Rob, I've got 3 Mantis, 3 Yellow Jackets, and a Warrior. It'll take some hunting but I'm sure I can find most of them, so you can count on them being there.
Being there ON-TIME. :)
Edit: 4 Mantis. Found everything, 8 more VTOLs incoming.

Sorry guys, I'm not going to be able to make it today. I got the scheduling stuff cleared up only to get sick. :( Missed work yesterday and the medicine hasn't kicked in yet. April 11th is looking good though. I need to resolve one bit of scheduling and I'll be there. Sorry I won't see you guys today.
