Title: Tokasha Mechworks Defense (now May 16th)
Post by: Timberwolfd on February 28, 2015, 10:03:53 AM
0344 May 2nd, 3072 Mission Briefing
Zeta Galaxy Commander Magnus DelVillar

At 0317 four strategic missiles were detected flying nape of the earth out of the Pansheer Pass. A patrol from the spaceport's security trinary detected the missiles in time to warn the spaceport and mechworks antiaircraft defenses. The antiaircraft crew at the spaceport destroyed the missiles. Initial analysis of the debris indicates that the warheads were radiological in nature.

Attempts to contact the Goliath Scorpion enclave at Pansheer-Denesh and the Steel Viper enclave at High Fire Rock have not been successful. At this time we are operating on the assumption that a raider force has breached planetary defenses and taken control of the Pansheer Plateau.  Communications with other Steel Viper and Goliath Scorpion enclaves have indicated that this is not an isolated incident.  The Steel Vipers suffered a chemical weapon strike on a garrison trinary that wiped out the unit.

These attacks are looking very similar to the attacks that destroyed the HPG relay station in January. These unprovoked and unclanlike attacks cannot go unanswered. I am mobilizing the 40th Mechanized Cavalry Cluster on a seek and destroy mission. You will proceed from garrison through the Pansheer Pass and secure Pansheer-Denesh and Hire Fire Rock. Once you have secured the plateau, you will await further orders.

Foxtrot trinary overflew Pansheer-Denesh on their outbound vector for the pirate jump points at solar Lagrange L2 and Lunar Lagrange points L4 and L5.

During their overflight they discovered a pair of Outpost class dropships.  They are painted in Hell's Horses Zeta Galaxy colors, our colors. Even more interesting, and disturbing, they also detected emissions from a mobile HPG. Two pairs of cruise missile launch platforms were observed loading into the dropships.

The dropships, cruise missile platforms and the HPG represent hostile strategic assets that must be captured or destroyed.

Continued analysis of the reconnaissance data has yielded an approximate opposing force size of a trinary of mechs and at least a binary of vehicles in addition to the dropships and whatever they might contain.

Trinary Sierra and Trinary Baker will reach the battlefield first. They will walk onto the board on turn 1. Trinary Able will arrive on turn 4. The TMD trinary will arrive on turn 8.

I'm no going to be able to make the session.  We've got relatives coming in from out of town and are celebrating  birthdays  that day.

With a sweep of his...

Hey man, we're a week out.  Are there any miniatures that you need us to bring, or are you supplying everything?

OK, seriously, *IS* there going to be anyone who can make this game?  If not, we'll cancel and reschedule Timberwolfd to get to run his game in July (since the June spot is spoken for).

If we haven't gotten a decent number of RSVPs by Thursday noon-ish, we're going to have to call this one.

I was planning on being there, although no one else I know can make it.  Also I thought I was signed up for the July slot?

As we have heard nothing from Timberwolfd in quite awhile, I have other things that need to get done; I will make the call for me. I will not be there Sat. See everybody in June @ the LAM factory run by Steve.

Alrighty, looks I'll be playing in an X-wing escalation tourney up at Epic Loot then. Anyone that wants to play, and needs to borrow ships, just let me know.

The Society mech force is entirely equipped with Nova CEWS (3 hex ECM, 3 hex Active Probe and C3i capabilities with two other Nova CEWS units)

Society also has 2 units with Arrow IV missile launchers.

Rules I expect to be used more often than usual:
ECM (ATMs have built in Artemis IV that will be negated)
C3i (Nova CEWS grants C3i)
Sideslipping (4x VTOLs and ~40 hovercraft)
Charging/Ramming (With that many hovercraft, there will be an accidental ram somewhere.)
