Rolling Hills 2.....BattleTech
Woodland..........Rolling Hills 3

Deployment
Ranger Deployment: Ranger Mechs and the Capellan ally deploy as desired anywhere in the blue-bordered area.

OPFOR Deployment: Deploy as desired on the red lines.  No more than 1 unit may deploy per hex (ie, stacking is prohibited).

Environmental Effects:
Low Gravity: Jumping MP and airborne (including WiGE movement) are not affected by 0.7-g conditions.  Recalculate all Walking/Cruising MP values to the following, and then figure Running MP from there:
Walk 3 = 4/6
Walk 4 = 6/9
Walk 5 = 7/11
Walk 6 = 9/14
Walk 7 = 10/15
Walk 8 = 11/17
If Running MP are used, and the Running MP used during that turn's movement phase is GREATER than the standard Running MP of the unit (ie, a 4/6 Grasshopper recalculates its movement to 6/9, and then Runs 8 hexes), make a PSR at the end of that move, using all standard modifiers, and an additional +1 penalty.  If the unit fails, each leg takes 1 point of Structure damage for EACH "overage" MP spent that turn (in this case, each leg of the Grasshopper would suffer 2 automatic Structure damage), and a Determining Critical Hits Table roll is made for each leg.  In the case of Vehicles, only the Front arc takes internal damage, and an automatic Motive Critical roll is made (counts as a "front" hit, and the motive type adds no modifier).  VTOLs and WiGE units do not modify their MP and are therefore not subject to this internal damage as long as they spend airborne MP.

All Piloting skill rolls to stay standing and avoid skidding suffer a +1 penalty; this DOES effect VTOLs, WiGE units, and penalizes the TN to send an ASF out of control (or shootdown checks) by 1 as well.

Infantry gain a flat +1 MP, and have no chance of damage as a result of using the extra MP.

All direct-fire ballistic and missile weapon attacks suffer a +1 penalty to hit.

All BattleMech fall damage is reduced by 1 point (in the second grouping, if two groupings apply), and the PSR to avoid damage from falls is reduced by 1 point (a TN 5 PSR is a 4, instead).

Battlefield Support
None.

PC Victory Conditions:
1) Destroy or render incapable of spending MP, 5+ OPFOR units.
2) Ensure that the laision is capable of spending MP at the conclusion of the scenario.

OPFOR Victory Conditions:
1) Destroy or render incapable of spending MP, 3+ Freya Lance units.
2) Destroy or render incapable of spending MP the Capellan Griffin

Misc Rules
1) Exiting the battlefield requires a unit to remain stationary at the board edge for 1 turn.  Only a single spent MP is required to move offboard (ie, the environmental MP penalties doesn't apply; or, more specifically, the Minimum Movement rule overrides it).

2) Captured MechWarriors receive a +2 TN penalty to recruit.  Until they are recruited, MechWarriors have a small chance of attempting a breakout each month, which may result in injury or death to Lance Wingmen. Captured MechWarriors from this scenario cannot be ransomed.

3) OPFOR MechWarriors will attempt to the best of their ability, to kill any ejected Ranger MechWarriors in this scenario, unless a Ranger BattleMech target in LOF is equally as close (or closer) than the ejected MechWarrior, or the Ranger BattleMech target is within 8 hexes and subject to a valid LOF in any case.

With the SPAs out, might be able to get mine done tonight. I will be open for the entire week if needed. Once I figure things out, I will just text you to know if it gets resolved tonight or sometime tomorrow.

After-Action Report:  Freya Lance successfully defended their assigned sector against a company-strength enemy counterattack.  The OPFOR advanced across a broad front in a classic "horns of the bull"; quick flanking units to either side, and the heavier elements advancing across the Ranger center to attempt to pin the Freya Lance in place so they could be flanked and enveloped.  in response, Freya held SGTs Fore and LT Hartmann back as a base of fire, assisted by the Capellan liaison, and counterassaulted the incoming flanking elements on the Ranger left flank using SGT Young's Falconer.  This 2-Mech element was isolated and defeated in detail by SGT Young.  Meanwhile the OPFOR was reluctant to advance in quick order in the face of SGT Fore's accurate fire at long range, meaning the assault broke up.  SGT Young turned the OPFOR right flank, and when the OPFOR heavy units turned to deal with her, LT Hartmann, supported by SGT Fore, attacked the exposed OPFOR left flank.  In a close quarters brawl, the OPFOR Lancelot, Flashman, Bombardier, and Summoner were all disabled or destroyed; the pilot of the Lancelot being killed outright.

Unfortunately, while the larger battle was held in control, the Capellan liaison was left exposed at the rear of Freya's formation.  The Capellan Griffin was attacked in a close-quarters assault by the OPFOR Zephyr hovertanks/  Under the range of its own guns and unable to break contact from the speedy vehicles, liaison Ch-oe was killed in action when his Griffin's head was struck by a medium laser and several SRMs in quick succession.  Freya Lance command wishes to note that this is what happens when one leads from the rear like some sort of giant anthropomorphic sociopathic rat, rather than leading from the front where you can inspire your subordinates to greater deeds; if you're in the rear and your subordinates advance, then you're left without friends to help you.

In the end, the assault petered out, and the OPFOR commanding officer in the Crockett asked for permission to withdraw from the field with their salvage.  Freya Lance allowed this, less the inoperable Summoner, knocked out by a freak engine hit and therefore prime salvage.
