Would you cut a Battledroid?
« on: November 22, 2011, 10:09:40 AM »

So, I've had this Battledroid Marauder (hex version) for some time, and I've got it earmarked for Grayson Carlyle, although that's subject to change.

In cleaning it up recently, I noticed that the torso piece where the legs attach is the shape of a small cube that extends from the torso.  It extends in such a way, that it would be very easy to get to with a jeweler's saw.  Cutting that piece off, and then repinning it to the torso slightly rotated to either the left or right would give the Marauder a pose that you hardly ever see - a torso twist.  I think it would look fantastic...

However, is it sacrilege to even consider cutting a BD Marauder?  This would be the only modification I'd make.  And the mini isn't in the best shape anyway, one leg is broken at the thinnest point where the hip connects to the upper leg, so I've got to repair that.  It also has various small dents (soft lead!) and even has a couple small pits on the torso (I sure hope I didn't cause that by letting it soak in Simple Green forever :( ).  I guess that's how I'm trying to justify it, the mini isn't pristine anyway.

What do you think?

I probably wouldn't have any problem cutting any mini if I was trying to accomplish a certain pose or mod. It is just a mini to me. I can't post any unseen so I don't have any real desire to have any, now.  ;)
