I finally won something on eBay
« on: September 14, 2010, 07:26:34 AM »

Everytime I bid on anything somebodys bid-bot beats me out in the last 10 seconds, but not this time http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290474293018&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT scoll down.

That probably means I overpaid, but at $62 with shipping thats $4.50 each, so I guess that's ok.

The plastics on the sprues have been showing up fairly regularly. I know a couple of guys over on LoTB have stated they were going to dump some of their excess, due to the high prices being paid. In general it seems all minis are going higher. Maybe because the game has gotten more popular. It is real tough getting minis for a good price any more on ebay. A good deal is like being in love, "what looks good to one doesn't to another".

Normally, I use 2 part epoxy, or superglue for assembly, but for these plastics, what is the best assembly method. These are the ones with the Marauder that is split down the middle.

Depending on the type of plastic, you might be able to use Plastic weld/plastic cement type stuff.  It chemically melts the plastic it's sitting on and effectively welds the two pieces together.  I can bring a bottle of it with me on the 25th.

If I remember correctly, I used plastic cement on mine. Glued it and clamped together until it set up. For cleaning off the flashing, a new exacto blade works the best.

Yeah, I used the Testors in a tube. Probably the liquid, with brush in bottle would work the same.

Stuff I used was a very watery type that was in glass bottles, and applied by brush attached to the lid.  Dunno if you had the same stuff just in a different packaging Phil.
