IC] 1 July, 2821: Looking for Space
« on: February 02, 2014, 08:56:10 PM »

The Return to the Pentagon
After the members of Kerensky’s Clans were chosen they trained for the inevitable return.  Of course retaking the Pentagon was the natural first step.  Nickolas and his advisors knew that they would be seriously outnumbered when they returned, so they began a large scale surveillance campaign called Operation Sable Sun.  For years Sable Sun ships, most notably the Bugeye class reconnaissance ship.  For several years, Sable Sun monitored communications, shipping lanes and anything else they could think of to get the most accurate picture of the current conditions in the Pentagon.

For four years Sable Sun accumulated information while some complained about the waiting.  The situation on the ground was deplorable.  Less than half of the population had survived.  In space, the situation was better.  Spacefarers travelled through the systems trading and occupied orbital facilities and ships [even cached warships].  Kerensky’s command staff was worried about the number of warships that could be turned against them.

Snow Raven Khan Stephen McKenna wrote in his journals: “I see no problem with the approaches to the Pentagon worlds.  There is no standing defense.  It’s the warship caches that bother me.  We don’t know how many personnel are present or how much of the warship’s systems are active.  I can’t believe that they haven’t activated at least some weapons for defense.  One way or another, we will have to deal with them first.  I can only hope that it won’t be the approach to Terra all over again.” [Op. Klon. pg 41]

The fleets from all of the clans participate in the jump into the pentagon systems per their assigned areas.  Clans Snow Raven, Mongoose, Nova Cat and Wolverine drew the Circe system for the invasion.  For them also was the most heavily defended space outposts and caches.

The game.
There are 3 major concentrations of spacefarers in the Circe system.  Khan Stephen McKenna, in charge of the overall attack, allocates the following forces…

Objectives Spacefarers

OOC] SciFi City is hosting a Magic: the Gathering Pre-Release Tourney on Saturday.  I am hoping that there will be room on the back half of the minis tables.  We can store our stuff under the table.  I checked the local library (where we played once before) and their meeting room is booked.  Travis, would Eastside Cards and Games be available to host?  Please see the attached quick-start rules that we have used back in Apocalypse Rising

Hey, are we doing this tomorrow? Just wanted to make sure.  (^_^)b

And as for location, there's a guy I work with that has opened up his own store in Mason:

Nostalgia Ink
6011 Tylersville Road Suite 1
Mason, OH 45040

It's a nice location, and a new store. Let me know so I can let Kevin know in advance. He's already said he's got room for us, but I'd like to be able to confirm with him if we're going.

Yes, we are gaming tomorrow.  11:00 am sharp [it is a comic store and it opens at 11:00].  Location is below.  Bryan says it is behind the BW3's heading into Mason on Tylersville Rd.  Phil, go straight up I-75 to Tylersville Rd exit and turn right [east].  It will be about 2 miles east of the highway. You will know you are close when you see the WLW radio tower on the left.  BW3's is on the right.  Check out mapquest.

Steve,

I will be there but late. We've got two kids playing basketball at different locations starting at 10. I'll be there by noon but not sure how much sooner.

Wolverines!

With a sweep of his...

I've been special ordering Vellejo paints from them for awhile, although that's not much. There are people in there just about every time I've ever stopped by, but I have no idea if that translates to $$$. I hope they make it too.

Steve, nice job on the scenario! Sorry I forgot to bring the dropships.

That was a fun one, and it's always good to get re-familiarized with the Aero rules.

For anyone who is interested, I tallied up the points by both sides and it was a dead draw, 40 pts each.
