Additional Historicals play
« on: August 01, 2016, 05:34:36 PM »

In addition to BattleTech, would anyone in the group be interested in Historical miniatures play, scheduled at roughly 1 per 2 months, with a 2 week separation from any existing BT games?

If anyone is interested, I plan to have extra time after game completion on Saturday, August 20th, where it can be discussed.  If you are interested, come prepped with a few genres/periods where you'd like to play most.  Currently, I'm looking most at small-scale (10mm scale or smaller) games set in either Napoleonics, American Civil War, or Modern Micro-Armor (say, 1980s NATO v Warsaw Pact).  This is largely for reasons of cost: you can put together a very credible medium-sized army *very* cheaply when you go 10mm or smaller, and several of these allow people to easily combine forces to make a single larger force.

Also, we have a game on August 20th.  As a reminder.

I have been painting figures for a game called "Bolt Action" by Warlord Games. Squad level game. Point based, a couple of hours to complete a game.

Also want to let all know, that I am having a serious case of burnout concerning BT. I will be dropping out of the campaign. Will still be in touch through the forum, hoping the time away will rekindle my interest in BT. Maybe once Camospecs site is up and running, again. Sorry to have to drop out, would just be better than trying to game and show that I am interested. Not the fun factor that it used to be.

I would be interested. However for at least the next couple of months I will be more busy than usual and unlikely to be able to attend extra sessions.

ww2 historicals or even ww1 since I don't know as much interest me at gencon I picked up a few other miniature games halo ground assault alien verse predator hunt begins I did see a few other mini games I am unsure of what they are though. I didn't see one that I had seen 2 years ago about Vietnam but I know that one interested me when I had seen it as well as some of the star wars ones. So honestly if people have others they play and want to do im more then happy to try and learn and try to get into. also I do have some magic stuff to play commander decks although im not as good at magic and not willing to dump the cash cow into it to be competitive. I did also get a chance to play the battletech card game and actually enjoyed it. If anyone has extras that no longer wants them I would be glad to fiddle around with it.

If I was to play anything historical, it would likely be something in the Micro-armor line. GHQ has excellent deals on their 6mm armor, and I believe they provide a ruleset as well, not to mention that a lot of that stuff can stand in as generic militia armor for BT since it's the same scale. That being said, I doubt I'd really have time for this. I'd be more likely to play this as an after-BT game on a regular BT date.
