i forgot about the bonus for planetary defenders weight class

may as well drop that one out and leave tower and jupiter

i would say the green opponents 30 mil or so plus salvage in a rather short time with b rated gear isnt a bad option minus the aero support

jupiter takes 2-3 times longer than tower for about 20 mil more in profit with a little less worry although we are defending and training FNG who wont know left from right in a mech plus any objectives that pop up
The time factor was what put TOWER STRIKE on my radar, but I really worry about our light aerospace wing. I was hoping we would see some fighters in the market place. The other down side to TOWER STRIKE is we will be in the Taurian Concordat when the contract is over... Though any contracts we take at that point will have a significant transport fee...  ;)

Honestly I don'd mind going for Jupiter.  We have enough firepower on hand to get our charges out of an area and having facility access means that we can also do some work while on planet.

My main worry with JUPITER are the skill checks.  Cadre missions have a ton of them, and if you fail enough of them, you fail the contract, even if you win every engagement.  Fortunately, people have been saving their XP to buy non-combat skills like Leadership, Small Arms, and Career/Soldier, instead of loading up on as many SPAs and Gunnery Skill increases as possible.  If they'd been doing the latter for the whole campaign, that could really hurt our chances of success.

On the flip side, my main worry about TOWER STRIKE is getting bombed into the ground, which is a somewhat more concrete and definite downside to the mission than teaching a bunch of kids wrong as a joke.  Also, there's whole "how do we get to the planet in the first place" thing, given that there's an entire ASF flight academy there.

that is a valid question would the employer guarantee safe entry and exfil to and from pirate points/planet itself/out of atmosphere or would we have to use our aerospace to gain entry or CAP from pirate point etc

I think the words he isn't saying are opposed landing.

I think the words he isn't saying are opposed landing.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly this type of mission will entail starting out

First arrival in system possibilities
1-opposed
2-unopposed
I'm assuming simply arriving in system wont warrant immediate attack from the concordant

Approaching the planet
1-opposed
2-unopposed
I'm assuming that is a possibility or is it a guarantee
At that point do we have employer air support

Entering atmosphere
1-opposed on dropship entry
2-unopposed
I'm assuming this is a possibility or is it guaranteed
Once in atmosphere I'm assuming our aero will be tangling with theirs almost as a guarantee

Would atb know or be capable to do any of this?
How would opposed lending work and where would it be initiated

If it's worse than I thought I sure as hell dont want to get put shotted out of sky in dropship because we have air support from employer

Would warrant a change of vote even

I really cooled on TOWER STRIKE when I thought through the disasters that are possible. Our Dictator is a beast, but the Triumph is a turkey. An opposed landing could well end up with a new unit roll after we go poof in space.

How does Cadre missions work exactly? I know the rules mentioned something about training units.

In a cadre mission you are a garrison force responsible for defending the world and act as drill instructors for mechwarrior recruits. There are frequent skill checks and you have succeed at enough of them in order to win the contract. Since most our players have focused on improving combat stats....

Most of our skills are low. Got it. Not a great thing to go for.
