25th Anniversary box set
« on: October 22, 2010, 10:46:12 AM »

I saw on CBT that the retailer sheet has a release date of November: http://catalystgamelabs.com/pdfs/CAT3500A_25Ann%20Box%20Set.pdf

Couple questions:  Should I rely on SciFi City ordering enough of these, or should I definitely put in a pre-order for my own copy?

Should we all encourage Sci Fi City to order LOTS of boxes?  I remember when we first played there, and they had 3 or 4 of the starter boxes.  They sold them ALL during our first game.  Of course, a large part of my question here is probably tied to my lack of faith that CGL can keep this thing in-print.  If that's not an issue, then obviously SciFi City can just keep ordering more as needed.  That's a big IF, imo.

Should we provide SciFi City with SSW record sheets for the Thor and Loki?  Seems silly to me that CGL will have two mechs in the box with no record sheets, although perhaps they ARE included already.  Anyone get a look at the contents at GenCon?

Are our demo agents planning on running an event around the release of this box set?

In order of question marks:  They'll order enough, they know how many of these things we could sell.  Kit's gone out and said more than a few times they've gotten a better system in place for keeping the box in stock (part of the issue being no one expected them to sell so well so fast)

As for providing sheets for the box set, Rob and myself will burn that bridge when we get to it.  Having not seen it myself for all we know it could well be in there already.

As for an event around this release - possibly.  Between the winter WWE, the campaign and Harvest Trials we may not have time.

Anyone know what the price should be on the set?  With the addition of the 2 high-quality figures, I assumed that it would be more than the first boxed set's bargain price.

Main page (http://www.classicbattletech.com/) has an update about the boxed set, including many pics.  Looks like this is finally coming together!  Since the forums are down I thought maybe not everyone saw this.
