CO for SLDF campaign.
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:13:06 PM »

I will start the thread, as requested; for comming up with a CO. Would we want to do a poll? Or just nominate and then vote that way? We have through the weekend to come up with our nominee.

Gerald Freund (Bryan) has the highest leadership skill and the highest tactics/land skill, so I nominate him for CO.  Duncan Reed (myself) is the only other character who even has leadership and tactics/land, so I nominate Duncan for XO.

Sgt. Schwepps will second Duncan Reed's nominations for CO & XO.

I agree with everyone, provided that Bryan is alright with the title of CO.

I'm fine with my PC being CO.  I chose Leadership specifically to make sure we were covered in that area, if necessary, especially since Rob went out of his way to mention that his PC didn't have it.

Just remember that your PC currently has a negative modifier to Charisma-linked skills, as your Charisma stat is low.  You can still change around your attributes if you feel necessary.

Good point, after compensating for low and high attributes, Gerald has a net +3 in Leadership and +2 in Tactics/Land, whereas Duncan has a net +4 in Leadership (+5 if Gregarious applies) and +1 in Tactics/Land, which makes them pretty even.  Duncan's fairly eager to see action and is a bit of a glory hound, which may prove to be problematic if he becomes CO.  Gerald has some confidence issues and is haunted by his past, which is never good, but he's still more calm and level headed than Duncan is.  Therefore, if we take rp factors into consideration, I believe that Gerald still edges Duncan out.

Unless there are any negative comments by Monday, I recommend we do this by acclimation. I have no problem with the leadership choices presented.

How high does my CHA need to be in order to not have a negative modifier?

6 is average IIRC so 5-6 for neutral, +1 and higher bonuses start at a 7 in the stat.

You need at least a 4 in an attribute to not have penalties on linked skill tests.  I'd worry more about your WIL than your CHA since WIL is linked to both Leadership and Tactics, whereas CHA is just linked to Leadership.
