Introductions
« on: August 19, 2010, 07:32:44 AM »

Hello all,

I figured I would make the somewhat standard and somewhat cliched introductions post since there wasn't one already.

While I do enjoy battletech, I am not in Cincy, and probably won't be traveling there a whole lot. Though when I do, I wouldn't mind coming down for a game or two if possible.

I came on board for Riegien's Pathfinder game, and possibly random discussion with people.

Take care!

Thank you all for the welcome.

I have heard some fun stories about your group by the way...something about special ammunition and retconning Gencon?

We're kind of the reason why the Inner Sphere is out of Semi-guided LRM's

Hey fellas, what's shakin'?

Jarod sent me a PM over on CBT.com to let me know about the new forum, and I just figured I'd poke my head in and say hello.  Or, rather, as I'm contractually obligated by having a Texas mailing address, "Howdy."

;D  I haven't had much luck wargaming around here yet, with Battletech or much of anything else.  The closest game shop to me is about thirty miles away, and most of them are a good hour, hour and a half drive (by being on the far side of the traffic-snarled DFW metroplex).  I've been RPGing like nobody's business with my wife's old circle of friends, though, and a few of them have expressed interest in a Battletech game -- and pleasant surprise, in fact, because they thought the game was dead -- so here's hoping I'll be able to get something up and running soon.

How'd the Solaris stuff work out for you guys?  And, slinging nukes at Kell Hounds aside, I hope everyone had a good time at Gencon?

Good to see that you've found us and that you've found potential victims down there.  GenCon was a pretty good time.  Dan has press ganged me into the Demo Team, so I got to run a bunch of things for Catalyst.  It was an interesting experience.

Solaris is working out well.  That said, turning the Kell Hounds into small, radioactive bits, and nuking several tables at Masters in Minions was quite amusing...

Hello everyone.  I figured it was about time I signed up here ;D.  I, too was at Gencon and played in the assault on Cairo.  I'm just glad that I played in the first time block on Thursday.  I didn't hear about the nuking until after Gencon.  I'm still pretty steamed that my faction got suntanned--but I would have been really >:( >:( >:( had I been there.  As it turned out I had the first casualty of the battle for Cairo.  My Hunchback ran out of the dropship and proceeded to receive multiple head hits (including a PPC) on turn ONE!  Maddyfish, thanks again for helping playtest my StarWars vs WiE game.

You're welcome!  The nuking was our doing.

If it makes you feel any better, the Urbanmech won Masters and Minions too, by singlehandedly winning the tables it participated on.  By itself.  From its position over by the GM's headquarters  ;D

Based on the playtest results, I improved the overall WiE G/P skills and lowered the armor on the AT-AT's by 20%.  The first time I ran it, the Empire took heavy fire and practically backed off the board.  The second time, the Empire again took heavy fire but continued to push forward attempting to complete their mission objective of securing the base.  I think that I overcompensated to the WiE side, but everyone had fun and that's what counts!!!
