Fair enough.  Then I’m good with whatever.

From my perspective at this point, there's no slam dunk, easy choice.  I can do WATERFALL, SAFECRACKER or wait until August.  My priority at this point is getting my lance on missions.  I only played one through my first contract.  Completely understandable as to why, but after the annual birthdays, my PC is sitting at 2 XP earned and my most experienced pilot has earned 6.

With Paul, Logan and Dan there are several of us in similar boats.  What kinds of contracts are likely to give us more missions per time?  Not sure that it happens as I know Rob rolls on a per week basis for it.  Just thought I'd ask.
Steve probably falls into the same category. He only got in a solo mission. The only gaurantee is 1 mission per contract (to the extent possible given mission counts, attendance, etc.).

The established lances have some advantage in more fully customized/optimized machines and deeper benches of techs and parts. Reaper Lance actually was one of the leaders before their hiatus due to catching a lot of salvage on a solo mission. My solo mission netted a Grasshopper and Clint that basically paid for the XL engines that went into the salvaged Crusader and Firestarter from the last mission (I won't be taking much salvage for myself this contract unless things go really wonky, I only took the two mechs since my lance has standardized on them.).

None of these contracts are of types to generate a lot of solo missions, so that will limit the further differentiation of lances a bit if we take one of these contracts. Size of battles is another issue. We can only play roughly 5 PC lances at a time due to table space and opfor player requirements. This will usually be three AtB selected lances plus two reinforcement lances, maybe 4/2 now with 11 PCs plus possible new players, if everyone can make it. Then the lances best suited for reinforcement get called on more.

Going forward, I will try to spread the love more, but things like repairs and reinforcement times are challenges. One of the things Rob and I talked about but couldn't really solve was if we can somehow run some A and B tables some months to get more PC battles in. The challenge is scheduling enough people to play two tables.

A/B tables does seem like a plausible idea. Assuming it is just lance players there, it might not be viable unless one of those missions is a solo. Contract 3 comes to mind with mission 1 and 2 being on the same day game time. The Opfor was too big (for both games) for that many players, plus some players who were opfor in one mission would have had to simultaneously play their PC in the second mission.

A/B tables add significantly to complexity, which was why Rob and I didn't get too far with the idea. I am actually considering WATERFALL specifically because it will likely lead to smaller and heavier opfors.  This could make it practical to try A/B tables.

Waterfall does seem like the ideal one overall. The heavier units will inflate the salvage value pretty easily, giving us a chance to get any if not all the smaller stuff without problem. Plus the 60% BLC is like a max roll without negotiation, so there really is no feasible loss on a mech.

What would B rated gear for Drac be considered? What would we expect to see?

You can look at Xotl's RATs and just look at the upper half of the rolls.

Think typical DC mechs:
Bugs, Panthers, Jenners, Mongeese, and Ostscouts
Phoenix Hawks, Shadow Hawks, Crabs and Hunchbacks
Dragons, Marauders, Warhammers and Guillotines
Stalkers, Hatamotos, and Awesomes

Then throw in some Comstar mechs that may be trickling down to B rated units after a decade. Sauce it with 3050 designs just being deployed and you should have a good picture.

They sound like ok options (DC grade B).  I’m still in the don’t have a strong preference position.

But I feel we can possibly get batter salvage with the same BLC. I doubt we would ever get a 100% salv anytime soon.

Ok, I've looked back through the entire thread.  WATERFALL seems reasonable, and I'll go ahead and vote for it.  Second choice is probably wait until August with third being SAFECRACKER.  We haven't negotiated SAFECRACKER yet, so that could improve the numbers, but not the possibility of one mission and we're done.

Okay, the current straw poll of posts

WATERFALL: 3 weak votes
SAFECRACKER: 1 enthusiastic vote (Dancer 1 has been locked in a padded room...)

Unless the general mood changes by Saturday ~11AM, it will be WATERFALL or delay.

Mine is a def wait but waterfall is my primary for this run. If I'm the deciding factor mission it is.

Wolverine would prefer to wait to give him a little more time for upgrades and he doesn't think any of the contracts stand out. Bright "just wants to shoot things". And I would like for a better selection and have no preference on the current contracts and will defer to rest of group on this.
