Who's CO for this mission?  As for reinforcements, my recommendation is Crusher.  Mission 2 has a heavier weight opponent, so my suggestion is to take Crusher for Mission 1, leaving Skaraborg as an option for Mission 2.

That's what I thought being listed first, but wanted to confirm.  The weather condition "Moderate Snow (Ash)" is mostly a non-factor.  I expect it's the +1 To Hit mod, but not the -2 heat points.  No vehicles or infantry listed, so no impact there.  Daylight isn't inherently a problem.  The map/size seems to be the most problematic at least potentially.  The good news about a 35 x 35 grid is that the fighting will start sooner than later.  My only question / concern is whether we're starting at too close a range.  Thoughts?  Only 2 rerolls, but not sure that there's a lot to try and improve.

I doubt we would hit 20 turns for deep snow to go into effect.

Currently I'd say map size is the biggest issue. The dual Thumper turret will hit same turn out to 17 hexes. With 35x35 being effectively a 2x2 map grid, a position near the center would put most of the map under its guns. The same is true for the dual AC/5 turrets. LRM, PPC, AC/5, and AC/2 mechs can all do the same. So if you try for a larger or at least longer map, you will reduce their ability to stack up in a ball of doom and focus fire.
