I am not sure what to choose. Minefield would be good, but the parentheses of it saying there is a BSP floor for Opfor could mean that the Opfor will get something regardless of me choosing. I will probably make my decision after the 1st game.

There are only 2 real jumpers on the opfor to pay attention to (Spider, P-Hawk), the panthers are 4/6/4 with the saladins at 8/12, the main ones that will get there before the rest are slow. It would take a min of 3 turns to get in front of the FedCom lance. I cannot move said lance past where I start for that mech if I read that correctly, meaning I need the max 5 towards the west board to give me the most breathing room overall. I have a plan, but I just hope my rolls will be in my favor is all.

Personally, I am thinking just Sniper (4 I believe) and light strike (2) would be optimal based on how much they get from this. Gives the Opfor 7 or 8 based on rounding.

I want to get this mission done after mission 1 but before 2. If I have to do it earlier due to those who are going to run it with me having a constraint on time, then so be it.

You don't have to choose 1 thing. You can choose 2x heavy strike, a strafe, 2x light air cover, and 4 light mine fields to get to 15 BSP. You could also go with 2x Sniper and 2x Light Air Cover for 10 BSP.

You also can take less. They get 1.2 times as many points as you use, so for every 5 points you take, they get 6. They also have a floor (probably ~5-6 points).

The Panthers aren't dangerous because they are fast. They have maneuverability in the canyon that most units won't. The Spider will definitely be dangerous, but it's damage output is low and the Phoenix Hawk has a poor enough gunner to limit its ability to hit. And keep the Firestarter away from the Wolfhound...

Which is why I will keep it light.
The more I choose, the higher a chance of multiple Arty strikes against me.

My units are max or near maxed armor, but the ally lance is not. They would be too much of an easy target to not pass.

I will wait on my decision, but I still am leaning towards my thought on just 1 sniper and 1 light strike. I will have to look at the map or at least the ones I know I will traverse to make a decision.

Which book has movement for vees? Would that be SO?

Given how few approaches there really are and how many 4/6 and 5/8 mechs there are you could probably get some good mileage out of a strafe attack.

Who within the group has coast 2 and both archipelagos they are willing to lend for this mission? I can't seem to find map set 7 anywhere online.

I don't have either. I've been intermittently looking for map set 7 for a decade plus.

Still cannot even find a comp 1. Maybe going up to Gencon Thursday with Brandon, I may find it. Doubtful, but will keep an eye out.

http://www.heavymetalpro.com/HMMap_Features.htm

If anything, I can buy this and give it to someone who has a printer that can print out the full sized map in one go. Might be the best alternative.
