Is rerolls based on strategy? If so, my strategy is a 3. I spent xp to up during the contract prior to my clans break.

This is correct.  Rerolls are IRREGULARLY removed, depending on whether the contract is House, Liaison, or Integrated Command Rights.  Independent is the only one that never takes rerolls away.

And check the TO&E.  I think you only have one officer in your lance; your PC.  If you've promoted anyone else to officer rank (and been paying them the increased rate), I'm not familiar with it.  So yes, you likely have to use your PC.

What Mech are you piloting?  I need to know so I can roll out the OPFOR.

It will depend on what kind of damage my mechs take in Mission 2. I would probably want to use my gladiator if it can be repaired in time. If not, I would use my Griffin 1N (if it could be repaired in time) or my backup Shadow Hawk. All have been customized.

Might be best to sit on it until after Mission 2. Instead of taking a guess that would ultimately be fatal to you, or be unable to do this entirely.

I will have to wait until Mission 2 is completed before making final mech choice but the Griffin and Shadow Hawk are configured the same (but I like the quirks for Griffin better). The only difference between them and the Gladiator is that the Gladiator has SRM 6 instead of LRM 10.

Why I was wondering was because you could simply say "I'm not taking X Mech in mission 2", and use it in this. It's not a requirement, but it was an option.
