Still down a mech at this time. Dragon will sit out.

For anyone who's curious about what's going on, only a few people can make the late September game.  I therefore advanced AtB through until the next meaningful mission which featured people who could be at the game, which was this one.  In the PROGRAM, it occurred on 12/25.  We are therefore simply switching the dates around; the game that WAS on 11/17 is now on 12/25, and vice versa.  This way, the few people who can make the game on September 29th can play this mission, and the other mission will take place IRL in this coming November (because our October game is the large-scale game at UC).

Incidentally, I also held on to the two Solo Missions which came up during the process, which will feature myself and Dunedain Lance.  Once again, December 7th will be a day which will live in infamy as we are ambushed by forces of Japanese heritage.  (Oh, and some dudes from our employer who turned coat.)

Such a huge gap between missions.

Such a huge gap between missions.

Remember, meaningful missions, AND the mission couldn't involve anyone who couldn't be at the late September game.  It took a while to generate that.

If you mean IRL, yeah, 9 weeks between campaign games does kinda suck.

IRL will most likely suck all the time unfortunately. Nothing anyone can do about that. At least the OpFor is manageable with 6+ players assuming only 3 lances go in.

I'm pretty sure PC will need more than 3 if not up to 5

Yes, but the gap is only because of the large scale game which should be quite fun.

IIRC, there's a max of 6 players who can make the game at all.  Which means that 3 PC lances is the cap.

Also, this isn't that hard of a mission.  It's a hard mission to get a clean sweep of the board, but not a hard mission to *win*.

To be fair to the rest of the lances, Dragon will not request any salvage. I will have one extra slot after selling off the still damaged firestarter, but I want to be fair to the rest who are in need of replacement mechs or some well needed cash.

That level 2 reinforcement lance will definitely be a handful.

Eh, they start 70 hexes away.  And you'll note how few jumping Mechs there are in the fleeing group, and that ALL units start on the south edge of the board.  What will make the mission suck are the Hunchbacks and Crabs.  But it's not terribly difficult to kill off 8 of those Mechs, given Skaraborg's assaults and Crusher's heavies.  I'd be surprised if the reinforcements ever got into range.

Reinforcements will get to pot shot the locusts and Pixies as they attempt to blow by.

I fully expect it not to matter, but the only salvage that Midnight would make use of from this mission for more than cash would be the Warhammer.

The whammy does have an XL. I am sure everyone would be gunning for it if the salvage value is satisfied to acquire it.
