Yes. “Player must destroy 50% of the attacking force...”. We need to be in range to have a chance. No doubt it’s going to be really ugly, just need to use what cover we can to our advantage.  If you’ve got a better idea, I’m certainly open to it.

Strategy wise the player side should just assign the bugs and Phoenix Hawk (and possibly the Chameleon) as the "survivor" force and run/jump like hell. The bugs have poor pilots and will get murdered if the clan force gets LOS and the Chameleon and Pixie are both heat constrained. The other mechs won't be able to get away anyway.

The clan forces has seven jumpers: the Viper, Kit Fox S, Summoner, Conjurer, Executioner, Hunchback IIC, and Nova. The Viper can jump 8, which will be a problem. The Kit Fox and Conjurer are fast enough to pace the bugs with 6 jump, followed by the Nova and Summoner at 5 Jump and the rounded out by the Executioner and Hunchback IIC at 4 jump. They can be dispatched as a hunter killer formation to ensure that the allied units don't escape.

The Heavy urban terrain will help the PCs and offer opportunities to inflict damage, particularly on the Kit Foxes. The Hellbringer and Vulture will be reasonable targets with their relatively lighter armor. The Summoner also falls into that category but will probably have a higher mod due to jumping. The Hunchback is definitely vulnerable due to its light armor, but... The Executioner is just a zone of death with 3 large pulse lasers and 4 ER mediums as well as the armor to ensure it can use them and the heatsinks to do it often. Interestingly, the Executioner's side torso armor is weak and it has left torso MG ammo. So it is semi-vulnerable to attack.

I’d designate the Wolfhound as one of the survivors or both it and the Chameleon.

Heavy urban terrain and no jump, how are you going to get it out? If there are straight lines to run on the map, they will become fire traps. Without straight line runs, the Wolfhound isn't fast enough to stay ahead of the jumpers. Also, nothing on the board or in the unit can stay ahead of the Viper, which will be generating a +3-4 mod anytime it wants to.

It isn't impossible to get the Wolfhound out, but it is unlikely, and the conditions to get it out look very similar to those needed to get any of the other mechs out.

Remember all PC lances enter as if they are a reinforcement unit. So earliest any will enter is round 2. I also believe most of the PCs in this one are round 3 or 4. With the maps being smaller, will the allies be able to get far enough away as the clan mechs advance? They won't have any cover fire or other units to draw focus away from them.

Midnight is turn 2. As for the Wolfhound, for IC reasons it should be prioritized. I understand the difficulty but the effort should be made.

All PC Lance's under the first come on as reinforcements.

Looking at lances, I think this is the order:

Turn 1 - Dragon
Turn 2 - Midnight
Turn 3 - Dancer [assumes all jump and an avg walk of 5.5+]
Turn 4 - Crusher [assumes all jump and an avg walk of 4.5+]

Initiative mod: Tactics +4 (Dragon) +1 Admin +1 Command Mech?

So base +5 init, the outstanding question is whether we have an officer in a command mech. I think Steve’s PHawks are pre-quirk update, so if Dragon’s XO isn’t, we’ll get that turn 3.

Crusher's Wolverine also has CM iirc. Just a matter of if an officer is piloting.

Agreed. I just figured Steve had it if Paul didn’t.

No command mech now unfortunately. Should have bought that archer from a few markets back.

You might be in the market for mechs again after these missions. Something to consider in the after action.
