From an RP perspective I’m not against Sudeten from a mech repair/ refit perspective. I found at least one reference to it being a backwater planet and out of the way. In addition to mech refits we’re also looking for contracts and a new Overlord. I think those are going to be harder to find there than other places.
Tharkad doesn’t produce much in the way of Battlemechs if any in 3050 and priority would likely go to Noble’s at inflated prices. Or rather we’d get inflated prices because of nobles getting priority.
One thing I want to make clear is I tend to focus on what’s in universe appropriate, in character knowledge and what makes a good story. Go read Atayde’s history or ask Rob if you have any questions or doubts about me adhering to those principles.
I will go with what makes sense even if it’s mechanically sub-optimal. My lance has invested in being night specialists where outside of bad luck will not come into play in any group game. It’s like having no SPAs at all. I’m fine with that. It’s the concept I picked and only really affects me.
If it made sense to go into the FRR I would have been open to it. The limited data we had as a unit didn’t support going Coreward (North).
In character Atayde would vigorously disagree with these Jade Falcons being “pirates.†Pirates could find an SLDF cache, sure. They could be highly trained, true. Showing up with a large number of unseen designs, with weapons that don’t match any known profile and a friggin warship? They ain’t pirates. He’d lean more towards a covert DC military unit especially given the tendency to duel.
If I start using OOC knowledge feel free to call me on it. I looked hard at Pandora, but the weapons manufacturers there were listed as producing low quality work, so that was out for me.
If Rob indicates that from an in game perspective we shouldn’t have issues looking for an Overlord or quality contracts on Sudeten, then I’d be fine with that choice.
