I am still unsure as to how I want to set up my lance. I was thinking of having my heavy/assault mechs as long range/direct fire support with my lighter units as spotters for those who can benefit from it. My goal is to have tag/narc on all my med/lights while having LRMs or long range weaponry on everything else.
Sadly though, only a few mechs in our unit actually utilize LRMs with half of the lances having at least 1 pilot with the Oblique Attacker SPA. Not everyone will use the Narc ammo at 2x the price of normal either, which is fine when TAG is used.

The NARC LRMs is a good idea and one that could be taken advantage of more.  Crusher's got a good number of LRMs as I recall and if others are aware of you're approach they can take advantage of it as well.  They'd only need to use the NARC ammo when paired with your lance unless others take advantage of it as well.  Certainly worth talking about various unit level tactics and how best to coordinate when we get back into the swing of things.

Not entirely true, TAG also removes the penalties of both the spotter, and the spotters movement penalty of the attacker, assuming it marks the target prior to attack phase. When TAG is used on a unit that is NARC'd, it also gains the +2 to cluster back as well for NARC ammo.

p.30 of BMM
Narc Beacons: A target with an attached Narc homing pod
(see p. 108) does not require a spotter to be the target of indirect
fire from an attacker firing Narc-enabled missiles (see p. 107). If a
spotter is not used, terrain modifiers do not apply to the attack, but
the +2 modifier to the Cluster Hits Table roll that a Narc homing pod
normally provides is lost. If a spotter is used, apply both the standard
terrain modifiers and the +2 Cluster Hits Table modifier.

Ideal salvage for me would be an Exterminator [preferably nul-sig or royal] or a royal Phoenix Hawk.

All 3 are excellent choices.  The Exterminator is certainly the fastest most heavily armored 6/9/6 std mech available.  Hard to go wrong with either variant you mentioned.  Royal PHawk is always a good choice too.

Skaraborg has one NARC Launcher on the Alexi's Pixie, and you spotted well for me in the Before Times - Berthe did a LOT of good work with you dropping pods and easily was responsible for two of his 5 kills that day.

As for Salvage?  I really want to get my hands on a Nova, even if its a project to put it back together, to eventually make a Nova A for Alexi to make good use of the WpnSpc C/ERPPC that he has (I think he actually is the first person in the inner sphere to get a WpnSpc for Clan weapon systems) and we have the technical skillsets to keep a Nova running condition.

I'm not too worried otherwise.  I hit Achievement Unlocked: ALL THE AWESOME, I'm content.

For the Pope, salvage is restricted to SLDF mechs unfortunately. I am sure there is a slight chance for a clan mech to just be there, but who knows at this point when nothing is currently set in stone on the matter.

I kind of have an idea on what I want to do with Hatamoto to fit more in line with my LL SPAs and lance role.
I was thinking of making it mixed tech as well (All weapons Clan, rest IS):
5/8/5 (using XL)
14 DHS
1 cERML (H)
3 cMPL (LA,RA,RT)
3 cSRM6 (1LT,2RT)
2 tons ammo (Narc, STD) (LT,RT)
cNarc (CT) and 1 ton ammo (LT)
1 IS TAG systems (LT)
2 CASE
BV would be 2198

If I am going this route, I may as well pick up a mech that is a missile platform. Best go with the Stalker 3Fb
Remove both ERLL, Guardian ECM, Artemis, 3 DHS.
Add 2 LRM-15 to both torsos and 3 tons more ammo with CASE in RT. 1909 BV

As for salvage, my first choice would probably be the Royal Exterminator. After that, maybe a Wolverine II.

As for the Narc discussion, I have several mechs with LRM 10's. I'm not concerned about the the cost of the ammo. I may have to look at possible changing one of my mechs to have a Narc launcher as well. If I don't get a salvage mech from my list, maybe the one I get would be good to mod with Narc and tag.

Another thing to consider, is to see if Comstar would give the unit a couple of Mobile HQ's. This would help the Lances assigned to scout roll with their repairs.

Ok, I'm a bit confused.  When you say LL do you mean Large Laser?  Nothing in the write up below it actually included a LL.

Lance Leader SPA. I was referring to my fist fire. I should have chosen a better SPA or just ignored a second one at that time.

Ok, here's a summary so far:

Midnight - Wolverine WVR-7H, Black Knight BL-9-KNT
Dancer - Exterminator EXT-4C, Exterminator EXT-4Db or Phoenix Hawk PXH-1b
Reaper - Exterminator EXT-4Db or Wolverine WVR-7H
Dragon - Archer, Crusader, Atlas, Talon or Griffin
Phoenix - King Crab (Any), Night Star NSR-9J
Skaraborg - Flexible as he has already unlocked ALL THE AWESOME
Ice - Exterminator EXT-4C, Exterminator EXT-4Db or Phoenix Hawk PXH-1b

I'm guessing for Ryan as he's currently got 3 Marauders and a couple light mechs.  I expect he'll look to deploy his command mech - whether that's one of the Marauders or a mech he picks up from the CS mechs available, 2 other Marauders (ideally with one in reserve in case one is seriously damaged/destroyed) and then a light mech.  For the King Crab I think he moves to the KGC-001 version to better match the Marauders and long range firepower, or the Night Star, the challenge with that one is that he's going to be tight on cap space and getting to 4 mechs as two of the Marauders are 5Ds and 1787 BV each.

Anyone else have any idea what they'd like from CS stores?

I just thought of something. Will the SLDF mech pool include pre collapse mechs (Royals)? I am now assuming that our pool will be current mechs that the SLDF would use around this time.

Comstar's stores are those Mechs that survived the fall of the Star League back in the 2780s as Kerensky left the IS and turned over the keys to at least Earth's resources and presumably the related known Brion caches as well to Comstar.  I don't know how much if any they've started back up production lines by 3051.

Skaraborg actually had an idea for salvage, and it's a Nightstar.  As a command mech, it would be a good fit for the 3IC, allows for tonnage compatibility with the Turkina on certain hardware.  Skaraborg also has the technical staff to keep it running, as I won't customize it - but difficult to maintain means it's going to be difficult to keep running without excessive technical support and when they're not busy setting up crime rings I've got the technical staff for it. . I'd probably drop the HGN732b and the XL awesome to pull it off.

that would be mine as well to be honest as far as the exterminator goes

im going to actually have to kill my ostsol somehow to make it work but hell if it does die and get that as a replacement thats about as good an upgrade as could hope for
