AAR:

In a swampy field, Lancer and Marigold (along with liason) hid in the trees on the East bank, while Osiris hid in the trees on the West near the South end, noticed a large brick of mechs protecting a small convoy coming through the city. The Rangers presence were known after a few seconds of the convoy advancing. As soon as we have faded out of the shadows, we were intercepted by a small lance on the East, which Lancer and Marigold became frantic and dealt with the light force in a scattered haste, while Osiris dealt with vehicles, along with 2 mechs in the North.
Struggling to make headway on both fronts, the convoy block began pushing in on the Rangers causing serious damage to all lances. Osiris struggling to land hits and stumbling over every step and a reinforcement ready to come in case any of the units pull through. The LRM mechs on the pirates tore through the bulk of the COs Highlander, causing confusion to Lancer and having to readjust every chance it can, while Marigold slowly worked on mechs that began to bleed through the line. Jazz lance comes in and takes a beating from the enemy Grizzly, having to pull back to work on the larger block of the units. While this is going off, Osiris is still struggling to get by and proceeded to pull out the win by killing all 6 units on his side.
Lancer CO took too many hits to the head, losing the head on the mech, and nearly his life by punching out early. The finishing blow was decided when the Grizzly was taken down on the 11th hour, netting the win for the rangers, forcing the convoy to shut down and surrender. No mechs were lost on the Ranger side, but damage and questions as to why things went as poorly as they did. Ranger CO is out of commission for 8 weeks while he recuperates from his injuries. Despite having the bulk of the lighter element on his back in the end, Marigold left the field with armor damage.

Salvage:
Grizzly (STD)- Fury
Puma B- Osiris
Rifleman 3N- Marigold
Talon 5W- Jazz
Total Salvage value remaining: 16,670,055

OK, for purposes of explanation, the "support points" alluded to in the AtB screencap refer to a game mechanic that is not fully implemented until 0.49.0 experimental build of AtB.  We're running the current stable 0.48.0 build, and for purposes of campaign stability I don't plan to update AtB (upgrading to a new build is a crapshoot as to whether your save files will migrate, and the more custom units you have, the less likely you are to get it to work).  The support points are in reference to a new sort of reinforcement mechanic that interacts with a new map-based solo campaign system, which wouldn't be appropriate for how we're handling AtB-to-tabletop translation anyway.

With that in mind, going forward, any references to support points should be considered to be a reference to "bonus rolls" instead.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but what does 'bonus rolls' mean? At first glance it seems like maybe we'd have been better off grabbing that cheap xp.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but what does 'bonus rolls' mean? At first glance it seems like maybe we'd have been better off grabbing that cheap xp.

Here are the results of bonus rolls in the past:
* x1 Repair Part (can be assigned to any lance leader at CO's discretion)
* x1 Partisan AA Tank (AC/2)
* Cash +350,000 CB to each participating lance leader
* Add a ATAE-70M Uni MilitiaMech    https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Uni
* Option to recruit for free a Veteran MechWarrior (3/4).  26 years old.  Owns their own ZEU-6S Zeus. If dies, either the Mech or the value of the Mech in CB must be returned to the family; and if the Warrior retires or is fired from the unit, they will take this unit (or an assault-class unit designated to replace it) with them.
* Dancer - Recruit  Teri MacInnit, 40 yr old Mechwarrior.  3/3 Medium-class.  Comes with own SCP-1O Scorpion (DHS errata - use RS:3085 Unabridged).  SPAs: Forward Observer, Melee Specialist, Sniper  EDG 1.  Skills: Small Arms +2, Negotiation +1, Ldrship +1
* Unit - Carter Medical Emergency Response Vehicle (Standard)  (can be assigned to a lance on a monthly basis; docs get +1 bonus to medical checks)
* Wolverine, Phoenix Lance - each receive 1 Bonus Part
* Phoenix Lance - receive 500,000 CB bonus.

As with many things, I have an extremely large spreadsheet regarding it.

This is the most I'll ever share, but do note that higher rolls =/= better results.  For example, there's an MFB as a low result on the Civilian Vehicle subtable.  I'm also working on rebuilding this table to be more comprehensive; it's geared towards ~3030 era play, and it'll likely move several tables up to *d1000* rolls, but this is the one that I used all through the previous campaign as well.

OK, speaking of Bonus Rolls

As a reminder, these go to the Unit CO, who can assign them to Lance Leaders as he desires.

1) BEL-1X Bellerophon BattleMech
2) Jifty JI-50 Repair vehicle
3) parts stash: 1 PPC, 3 flamers
4) opportunity to hire a MechWarrior.  Regular (4/5), 22 years old, owns LCT-1V Locust.  Has 1 SPA.
5) parts stash: 8 MGs and 2 tons ammo
6) $350,000 bonus Cbills

If no one else can use the MG's and ammo, Jazz can use them in Firestarter.
