Aside from not being able to use XP gained from Trait points to buy skills, yes.  The rule pretty clearly states " You may spend Trait points at character creation to buy SPAs. Each Trait point gives you 10 XP worth of XP to buy SPAs".  Which means that those 60 XP used to buy Piloting and Gunnery down to 3 each gotta come back.

Also, what happened to all the other skill points you got during character creation?  Stuff like Perception, Language/English, Swimming, and so forth?  You add up all those other skill points we aren't tracking, divide them in half, and use that result to buy more ranks in the stuff we *are* tracking (which may well let you get your PLT/GUN back to where you want them).  I can see that you tracked the skills, but they seem to simply be discarded rather than coming back to help you.

Those are the only things that jump out this second.

shotguns +1
Stealth +1
survival +1
tracking +1
protocol/affiliation + 1(2)= 3

If I am understanding correctly, it is these skills that would be considered nonessential right?

Correct
By my count that is 38 "wasted" points. That gives you 19 to distribute to your tracked skills.
Double check my count.

I count 37. so I would lose the 1 and get 18. I can still get my 3/3 if I read the rules right (skills are capped at +5). Okay I think I am understand the rules a little more. I will have this done tonight. Thanks

I think I did everything right, a second check through would be helpful. Thanks for catching it.

I think I did everything correctly on the lance warehouse. I have my personnel on a separate sheet in the same file. IS that how you want it set up?

The warehouse and your PC (who still needs to spend XP on SPAs, I think) look generally fine.  I'd ask you - when convenient - to please update the Google Doc with your PC stats, using everyone else's PC as a guidepost.  There's no hurry with that, since you and Dan won't join till after this contract (you get something nice, btw, as an apology for forgetting your PC at the end of *last* contract), and this contract is unlikely to be over until ~November of 2017.

Either way. It was probably a good thing I missed it since I forgot about the excess skills towards the end anyway...
I appreciate you catching that. I am pretty sure I did everything else right however.

1. Okay, I am trying to find the costs for my personnel and how to calculate their monthly pay. How would I find them?

2. If I read the beginning disclaimer, I also get a vet doctor for head hits yes?

Also I put my information into the google doc. I was unsure how to add the + behind the numbers since it wanted to try and make it into an equation.

1. Monthly pay
Veteran Officer MechWarrior: 2880
Regular Officer MechWarrior: 1800
Your PC is the officer, all other MechWarriors in the Lance are Sergeants and thus enlisted

Veteran Enlisted MechWarrior: 1440
Regular Enlisted MechWarrior: 900

Elite Tech: 1500
Veteran Tech: 1280
Regular Tech: 800
Green Tech: 480

2.  No.  The unit was guaranteed to start with a vet doc.  Although I'm considering breaking the doctors into Lance-specific assignments because I didn't realize how messy it would be to keep them at the unit level.

3.  It's a spreadsheet, so when you click on the cell, the first thing you should hit is the ' key (not the ` key; I mean the one next to the Enter key).  That tells Excel that you aren't trying to enter an equation and lets you type as plaintext.

I forgot I could have just ctrl +c/v and got it done that way.... Also could we define the difference between a vet and regular MechWarrior as well. From the look of the sheet, it seems like the vet would be considered a 3/4 or better while a reg is a 4/4 or worse?
