Can we get the mech pilots hired so we can use them in the upcoming game?

In a second.

You have till midnight on 10/9 to get your claims in.  I'm processing claims at some point on Tuesday.

And I should add I would like to get the elite mech tech.

You should double-check the age.  She automatically retires in a year, and you have to pay severance (being 65 is an auto-retire, regardless of any other modifiers in play, like the "no retireing before Contract 3 is up).
Consider my chit withdrawn for the elite tech.

You might be able to defeat the retirement rule if you have your PC marry her.  ;D

Will she also have Large Dropship as a quirk?

Oh, that's clever.

I mean, still "no", via the wording in the rule doc ("they will retire at 65, period").  But that's a very clever thought.
From now on I only celebrate unbirthdays...

Hires Kelly Ross (Mechwarrior, Veteran, Light-rated).  You owe a hiring bonus of:  $30,000

Darrian Wolffe

Do we get to choose which skill we carifice for edge? (if so, I'll drop the first aid for 1 Edge.)

Actually, I half-way take that back.  Your NPC will still drop 1st Aid for edge, it's OK.

However, when I originally came up with this stuff, the idea was that you had to drop a skill prior to rolling for it.  But with the limitations of forum software, that'll take a long time to resolve, and we don't really have a chance to do these sorts of things in person.

Therefore, for future months, it's going to work as follows: You can ask me to randomly drop a skill your lancemate has rolled and exchange it for 1 point of Edge.

This way people aren't cherry-picking single-point skills to exchange for Edge; there's some risk and a meaningful decision involved.

Fair enough. The lag on doing things via forum is a significant hurdle to almost any other formulation.

with fist fire is it once per turn per arm or is it once per turn total

im most likely going to get that or melee master

also is it really worth it to keep something at a +2 for any of those? i want to drop 1 for edge or possibly 2 depending on if they are actually of any use.

ICE 2
Lynn Richmond:  ENF-4R Enforcer (3/4)

ICE 3
Faith Carlyle: ENF-4R Enforcer (3/4)

ICE 4
Milton Long:  GRF-1N Griffin (3/4)

also for the above pilots there was never an age determined am i assuming they are the same age as me since they were my lancemates?

Before I tell you to reread the rules in a snarky fashion, do you mean Melee MASTER or Melee SPECIALIST?  Because one is 20 XP and one is a total of 50 XP.

All skills are useful if I'm asking you to roll them.  Whether a skill bonus offsets a point of Edge is up to you.

Regarding Fist Fire: I see nothing in the rules precluding you from doing it twice per turn (1/arm).  Obviously, each arm still needs to have a functional Shoulder, Upper Arm, Lower Arm, and Hand (or BattleFist Quirk replacing the Hand; like the Zeus's LRM-15) actuator, and you can still only fire a single weapon per attacking arm.

It would be the 20xp one and I was asking because I didn't have access to some stuff at the time

Go ahead and off 1 of those for edge for the light pilot
