That's true. Alright. May I borrow the t bolt for the gyro? I will replace it soon as I get the funds.

You may. There are some conditions, though.

Mostly that you are on the hook for the complete repair and return of the Thunderbolt by end of contract. I will also consider the loan when it comes to salvage. This may be good or bad for you.

Ill be extra careful with the mech. If I have to remove the gyro and put it back so be it. Or I can run this contract with 3 and hope I get enough to replace the gyro I didn't have money for. Assuming gm will allow it.

Mechs are there to be used. Responsibly is the key. With the Thunderbolt assigned to you, it will be your choice whether to directly use the mech (within the BV cap) or pull its gyro.

Dons GM hat
Allow what?  This is between you and the CO.  Everything you're doing is rules-legal.  The CO cannot help you buy buying you spare parts, nor loaning technical support, nor simply giving you a unit so you can rip it apart.  But the CO is allowed to loan a unit to a Lance Leader, and while in possession of that unit, the Lance Leader can do what they want with it as long as it comes back in equal or better condition than they got it (or if it gets legitimately blown up during a combat operation; that's a known risk).  So while the T-bolt is in your possession, you're completely within the rules to take the gyro out of it.

I can play defensively until I figure out how things work. This was an error on my part ans I'm willing to accept that. But I will make sure there will be a new gyro in by end of contract or shortly after.

I will have to pull the gyro out asap to be able to put it in before we leave so I have time to put engine in.
