not to mention we get disbursements each month right?

No.  The contract doesn't actually start until you arrive on-planet.  You do not get paid while you travel.

Ok that's the upfront portion then I assume to div out prior as well as our wealth and well connected

Yeah.  There *is* a contract advance (see the top left corner: there's a pre-set 25% advance - which we can lower if the CO ever wants to) which gets paid immediately.  And you do get your Wealth/Well-connected bonuses each month.  But the contract ITSELF doesn't start paying disbursements until you're actually on-location.

There ever a chance of it going 40% advance pay or more? More money upfront is good

LOL, no.

Advance Pay is hard-capped at 25% as per FM:Mercs(Revised) and the AtB program.  You're getting the absolute most up-front pay you can get.

Later in campaigns it can actually be more beneficial to get larger monthly disbursements, so turning down the advance pay can help in certain situations.  But with the financials as precarious to start out with as they are, I assumed that you guys would like as much of an advance as you can get.

Your Wealth and Well-connected would proc each month as normal, as will your unit costs and salaries (same for the unit).
Given unit finances, I would disburse shares of the advance after I determine how much will be needed to get the unit there. For example, the unit has just over 10 million in the bank, which is almost exactly what it would cost us to jump to the FRR for SEA LION. Add in 8 months of unit costs for another million plus and we would be in debt on arrival without the unit share of the advance. Since I would like us to maintain a meaningful unit reserve, I am unenamored with SEA LION.

GUNSO is my choice.

I think it is worth pointing out that I have several disadvantages around the confederation.  While not likely to come into play, if they do (and both rob and I believe that disadvantages have a cost) interesting things could happen.

edit: although I really want to play in the CC, as they are the only people who have BAP right now and I really want one.

That really doesn't work so well with two of my contacts on Goshen and Ziliang...
We may have to go to the Confederation and work things out...

Enemies are going to happen to pretty much everybody at some point or another.  That's why you got points for them.

There are possible negative reprecussions for unit members if you work for or conduct operations inside any of the following Successor States:

Capellan Confederation
Lyran Commonwealth/FedCom
Federated Suns/FedCom
Draconis Combine
Free Rasalhague Republic
St. Ives Compact

Essentially, pretty much all of them.

Desire for CC contract increasing. Rob, can enemies be bled out/eliminated?

You have to both do "story" stuff AND spend XP on it.  As per the RPG rules, buying off negative traits is hugely expensive, which is why I didn't even bother putting in XP costs for them.  As per the MW3rd edition to ATOW playtest conversion document (internal CGL document, sorry), a Trait Point in MW3rd is worth ~35 XP, or roughly the cost of raising a mid-range attribute by 1 point.  So an Enemy(2) Trait costs ~70 XP to buy off, PLUS you have to justify it via actions achieved in-game.

I think a good number of people have enemies in and around St Ives and the CC.  Of special note is Dancer lances CO, who has enemy (Death Commando).  Lots of fun stuff there... I just have a personal layality to the Liao family.

Lets go to the CC, and see all the negatives come up.

Changing vote to RUNNING HORSE.

I am addicted to lurking but I am trying to find the time to update Dancer with repairs and warehouse.  Luckily, I will not be doing any customizations this month.  I will be concentrating on finishing repairs to salvaged PHawk and swapping Centurion pilot to PHawk while keeping Centurion as reserve.  That being said, I vote for Running Horse for role-playing reasons above.  (^_^)b

Operation RUNNING HORSE has won the vote.
The plan is to leave Canopus IV at the last possible minute that we can still arrive on time in order to  maximize refit times.
Basically, since Dan and Steve are otherwise occupied for a while, I want to make sure they have as much time as possible to refit.
