Next campaign I know it's early!!
« on: November 16, 2010, 08:53:52 PM »

With the Turning points Misery, and the coming soon Death to Mercs coming out, it would be outstanding to do a campaign based upon these.

Plus, I just painted a company of Dragoons. And let me guess, Phil would join the Dracs.

The running pattern is a campaign of modern, older, modern...as Misery was our target for last go, its certainly very much a possible idea for the next go around and fits into the pattern unless, say 3052 catches our eye...

Could I just nuke everyone, and be done with them??   Oh wait, 20 years too early.

Ok, but we know that doesn't work. The WOB still goes down.

My top three choices for the next campaign are as follows:

1. Operation Klondike
2. The War of Reaving
3. The Third Succession War

My thoughts on the suggested ideas:

Misery-This one could definitely be fun.  It doesn't excite me as much as the above listed ideas, but I'd still look forward to a Misery based campaign.

3052-From my experience, early clan invasion stuff can get ugly really fast.  Clan technology combined with the questionable nature of a lot of the 3050 inner sphere upgrades doesn't exactly make for a balanced game.  In order for things to even come close, the inner sphere side has to be particularly cunning, the clan side has to be particularly stupid, or the inner sphere has to have an overwhelming numerical superiority.  Basically, for an early clan invasion campaign to work, then players need to abandon the expectation of fairness and balance and the clanners have to agree to play like clanners (bidding down forces, adhering to zell, not employing any cowardly tactics).  In my opinion, the best way to set up an early clan invasion game would be as follows.  Everyone is a clanner.  For each game, the gms come up with a scenario.  The clan players then bid against each other for the honor of assaulting the objective.  The winning player(s) then gets to assault the objective while the losing player(s) run the Inner Sphere OpFor.

Obviously, you missed our Clan Campaign.  But you just essentially described it.
