Keep in mind that the two royal griffins have ECm and will interfere with the NARC plan.

Let's use a reroll for terrain.

I apologize; I missed this in the massive influx of posts.

Reroll generates:
Terrain - Heavy Urban
Map - City (high)

4 rerolls remaining.

Player units must reach within 3 hexes of each map corner...

I know we don't have final scenario setup yet, but please confirm a couple things for me if able:
  1) Does each PC unit on the board have to visit each corner? or does each corner need to be visited by a single unit?
  2) Can all corners be visited by the same unit to fulfill the objective?

My concern with darkness is that it will hamper a lot more than help.  We still need to get to all 4 corners and back, and with how much the one darkness scenario slowed things down, I'm leary about doing that.  We also need to take out a quarter of the opponents to achieve success.

Totally agree.

Also, considering our salvage rights, our goal should definitely be to take down 50% of the OpFor as well.

Seems like this would be excellent terrain for our jumper forces, although perhaps not so much for speedy stuff w/o jj's. This would also neutralize those hovers quite a bit, and it also potentially means cover during the actual recon scans at the corners. I'm fine with it, although I'm not opposed to trying again and hoping for woods/hills.

Personally, I like the daytime clear weather. I'm itching for a straight-up fight.  ;D

Crusher lance is all jump-capable and ready if called.

Yeah, it's not well-worded.

Essentially, each corner must be visited by *a* Player unit.  It may be the same unit, or it may be different units, in any combination.  The most time-efficient way is to visit each corner with a different unit, keeping in mind that each unit which has visited the map corner must successfully return to the starting map edge.  If you dispatch 1 Mech to the northwest corner, and it doesn't make it back, then you haven't fulfilled that objective.  Thusly, visiting each corner with 2 mechs - to ensure one makes it back - is likely the best strategy.  The one differential is the LAM, which can *likely* be dispatched on its own.

I strongly disagree on the terrain, however.  Urban, especially any type of city urban, is likely to be a disaster.  This mission already requires us to split forces in multiple directions; urban terrain takes away the ability to meaningfully support any split force with any other force due to LOS restrictions.  I do also agree that Daylight and Clear weather is optimal; weather severe enough to limit the OPFORs movement sufficiently enough to matter is also going to screw our recon elements.

..........

Oh, and because I KNOW that some asshole is going to try and cheese it: no, the LAM cannot go to the low-altitude map and "count as" reconnitering the entire area by virtue of low-altitude hexes each counting as one mapsheet.  Its ability to recon the furthest corner is sufficiently good, thanks.

if you all say so

the heavy urban could be very bad especially for non jj but just as bad for them if not worse - im still up for find the rolling hills tho

as far as weather im only saying it because of the heavy ballistic/missile weapon complements on the enemy side with good enough gunners to use them

This is so true in regards to terrain.  Urban terrain will break our forces up, and slow us down.  Also, Kong lance is to pavement as sodium is to di-hydrogen monoxide.
