I know we don't have final scenario setup yet, but please confirm a couple things for me if able:
1) Does each PC unit on the board have to visit each corner? or does each corner need to be visited by a single unit?
2) Can all corners be visited by the same unit to fulfill the objective?
Yeah, it's not well-worded.
Essentially, each corner must be visited by *a* Player unit. It may be the same unit, or it may be different units, in any combination. The most time-efficient way is to visit each corner with a different unit, keeping in mind that each unit which has visited the map corner must successfully return to the starting map edge. If you dispatch 1 Mech to the northwest corner, and it doesn't make it back, then you haven't fulfilled that objective. Thusly, visiting each corner with 2 mechs - to ensure one makes it back - is likely the best strategy. The one differential is the LAM, which can *likely* be dispatched on its own.
I strongly disagree on the terrain, however. Urban, especially any type of city urban, is likely to be a disaster. This mission already requires us to split forces in multiple directions; urban terrain takes away the ability to meaningfully support any split force with any other force due to LOS restrictions. I do also agree that Daylight and Clear weather is optimal; weather severe enough to limit the OPFORs movement sufficiently enough to matter is also going to screw our recon elements.
..........
Oh, and because I KNOW that some asshole is going to try and cheese it: no, the LAM
cannot go to the low-altitude map and "count as" reconnitering the entire area by virtue of low-altitude hexes each counting as one mapsheet. Its ability to recon the furthest corner is sufficiently good, thanks.
