I'm still planning on being there, especially since I already bought my badge. The bad news is that I haven't booked a single event yet, so still wide open.
One year I want to try that. Just show up without a plan, and see where GenCon takes me. Let the convention lead me to cool stuff, breeze around without a care in the world or any need to be anywhere at any particular time, and just kind of hobo around the joint, seeing what looks cool. Invariably, though, I panic and tell myself "GenCon will take me to the stuff I liked playing all the years before! Ack! Buy game tickets!"
But one year...
one year.
[/quote]Do you plan to play in any of the canon story-line events?

At the moment, I don't, but I've got a great big stack of generi-tickets ready to go, to see what I can get in on. I went out of my way to leave a couple big time slots open, thinking I'd get corralled into running some
Shadowrun stuff, and then...well...they had a bunch of other GMs sign up, and I ended up not getting booked for a single one. If I'd
known that was gonna be the case, I probably would'a jumped into more BTech, but as it was I was trying to leave time to run stuff for the people that cut me a paycheck.
Which reminds me -- while I'm on the subject of paychecks! -- if anyone remembers the old
Syndicate and
Syndicate Wars games, check out this Kickstarter for
Satellite Reign. The KS proper just locked up today, but they're still taking PayPal from slacker-backers, and every dollar helps. It's gonna be a pretty wicked game, in my opinion, and I'm very glad to be on board doing some writing for them (and potentially lots MORE writing for them, if budgets allow):
