Working on mid-point summary.  He'll need to decide on stats and how to spend his free SP as well as the SP that are add X to a field skill, etc. plus decide on traits as well.

Corrections:
Stage 3 should have 1 less Promotion and 1 less Well-Equipped, But should add Promotion to Sergeant (Rank 6).

He'll need a doctor, please hold one.

History
Work in Progress - rough potential sketch
Nicolas was born on New Avalon and started at the NAIS College of Military Sciences in 3031.
He became very close with his roommate Kato and another gentleman by the name of <fill in Rival's name> with them jokingly being referred to as the Three Muskateers.
Nicolas graduated at the head of his class in Basic, edging out his rival and triggering a bad falling out.
Despite Nicolas being an officer, he and Kato stayed close for the 6 years they were in school together
When Nicolas graduatd in 3038 he joined the newly forming 6th FedCom RCT.  In the 6th's assault on Ancha, he distinguished himself by single-handedly taking one of the Kurita positions despite withering fire, earning his Silver Sunburst for Gallantry
His rival's uncle is one of the Estates General and aided the rise of his extremely talented nephew.  They also worked to "put Nicolas in his place" being a non-noble, undermining him and preventing several well-deserved promotions.
Frustrated by the political maneuvering that would influence Nicolas' assignment upon completion of his advanced studies at NAIS, he took Kato up on his offer to consider the Rangers, joining them in March of 3047.

I'l go over the sheet in detail in the morning.  One thing to note:

The sheet is not complete until the planet where the enemy is is denoted, and the planets where the contacts are is denoted, and the area of Good Reputation is denoted.

No problem.  There's only 1 thing wrong on the character sheet as far as I can see.  It's how you've handled well-equipped.

Look at the 2-2 ruleset (since that who he was created under), page 7.

"Well-equipped (2) means that you will get 1 piece of SLDF-era gear in your warehouse. Well-equipped (6) would be 3
pieces of gear. DHS are not "equipment", but an XL engine is. Each piece of gear can be switched out to get you 10 tons
of F/F armor instead.

What you've given Ryan is Well-equipped (4), and 4 pieces of equipment.  I don't blame you - Well-equipped is wierd because it comes in groups of 2 points, not scaling up by 1.  But that needs to be fixed; drop 1 engine and 1 gyro (or just 2 bits of gear) and you're fine.

Otherwise, character is approved.  My personal RECOMMENDATION is that he drop a few points of Edge for a few more Trait Points in other attributes (Trait Points are lost far more readily under the current ruleset, and if your DEX or RFL drop below 4, you have to retire the character (other attributes have their own thresholds for effective character retirement or death).  If you two elect not to do this, that's fine.  Confirm you're proceeding as-is and, as long as you've made the Well-Equipped adjustment above, the PC is approved to join the unit.

Hi Rob, thanks for the feedback.  Ryan's character got the "Well-Equipped" trait 11 times.  I have to imagine each time it was gained was effectively a 2 point level, because giving half a level doesn't make sense.  I dropped it from 11 to 4 as it was meaningless above it and could not be sold back above the top level anyway. 

As for Trait Points, I'll make the recommendation for increasing it, potentially adding a negative Trait or two for flavor.  We should be able to take care of this tonight.  Let me know if anything else needs to be adjusted.

Once you top out a Trait, you stop getting it.  You can't get Vehicle 15, for example. The cite is MW3e, page 23, under 'Variable Trait Levels".  So if he got Well-equipped 11 times, he got 22 points worth...but only the first 8 points matter, leading to a final result of the Well-equipped (8) Trait, which then can be sold back in increments of 2 points at a time.

But whatever the actual value, if you have Well-equipped (4) on the character sheet, you can only get 2 pieces of equipment.

No points of well equipped were sold back. He wanted the full 4 piece of equipment option.  My comment was to indicate that even though he was given the trait above the maximum level it wasn’t possible to sell anything back for effectively nothing, so he didn’t.  Any sale would have impacted the number of points of equipment.
