Large Scale Game Setup

Large scale game setup

There is a lot of stuff to move from my house to the room at UC. We will have several tubs of mechs, two tubs of trees, and at least 1 tub of miscellaneous stuff. So there is a lot to move, about 2 SUV loads in total. So if I can get someone with a SUV to help move stuff over, that would be awesome.

We will also need to have multiple people setting up the play space. We will need to fluff the trees, tape out large areas (lots of crawling), and do a lot of measuring. This will probably need 3-4 people on this part.

Sign ups:
Driver with cargo room
1. Paul (Deadly)

Room Setup
1. Paul (Hat)
2. Ryan (Hat +1)
3. Dan
4. Brandon

Ideally I would like to get everyone allocated by Oct. 13th so we aren't scrambling at the last minute.

I can do that. My SUV should be able to fit what you need.

What time do you need people at your house and how close to campus or what section of town do you live in?

I'll need Paul (Deadly) at my house about 8:30 AM to load.
Everyone else can meet us at UC at ~8:45-9AM.

Dan, some have expressed interest in livestreams of the game. What would we need to get that going? I expect computers and wifi access. Cameras will be interesting, the webcam I have and the ones on the laptops I'd use are going to be very wide angle and not very suitable for the distances for this game. Any ideas?

We'd need a *hardwire* connection to the outside world and some time to test and plan this out.  A decent PC to assemble the feeds and deliver in onto twitch.

Honestly, I'm not sure we have enough time to test.  PM me please.

Setup tasks:

Woodsmen
Unpack and fluff 80 12" Christmas trees
Masking tape the woods areas with some hatching

Shrouds
There are ~10 buildings and 7 mechbays to cover in printed paper
Some scissor work and taping will be necessary

Surveyor
Person in charge of measurements  to ensure everything ends up in the right places.

Gophers
Help unloading the vehicles (may be an extra trip or two). Getting everything from where we can park to where we are setting up may take some carrying.

General Planning info
We will be on the 4th floor of TUC in room 400.

Parking is metered on Clifton Avenue (with 2 hour max I believe). Parking on Martin Luther King Dr is also metered as zone but has a 4 hour max. Watch for fire hydrants, you don't want a $250 ticket. If you download the Cincy EZPark app, you can refill the meter remotely. I believe the current rate is $0.75/hour (plus a convenience fee for using the app) until 6 PM.
University garages will be $10 for the day, with no in-out privileges.

Some of the restaurants in TUC on the 2nd floor will be open. There are also microwaves in the food court for open use. I have requested enough tables and chairs that everyone should be able to eat in the room. Note, that I can't order in any food without triggering a fight with the catering company, so everyone is on their own for food and drink.

Any questions?

Jon, I'm going to call the surveyor position, given that means I won't have to walk up and down the goddamn hills everywhere to unload stuff and I'm the next-most familiar with the map setup.

Where are the nearest parking garages to the student center?

The nearest garages would be the CCM and Varsity Village garages. Varsity Village is a hidden little garage near the CCM garage.
