I am probably going to have to remove moonless night as well since most of our allies cannot jump.

Agreed. In general it hurts us more than it helps. Even if most of our forces jumped we’d still likely need to remove it. A base +5 to our to hit rolls excluding terrain and OpFor modifiers mean we’d never hit, and as a mission where we need to drop 8 clan mechs, that would be a problem.

Other than light, I think map size is the other thing to reroll. Not sure that any weather benefits us as they’re better equipped to absorb die penalties. Larger maps work to their advantage given their ranges. Their fastest mechs are 6/9, their slowest is the Hunchback IIC at 4/6 with the Gladiator a 4/6 with MASC.

We also need to make sure the Wolfhound makes it off the board/is still alive and kicking at the end.

Because of Steiner I assume. Any weather effects would heavily hinder us at that point, so the clearer the better.
After more ideal light condition (dusk/dawn or clear), then reroll map to something smaller as best as possible.

Yes, because of Adam. It wouldn’t hurt the unit to have his ear and favor if we get badly mauled in the fighting.

I'm ok being pulled from training for either mission. I am still getting my lance up to date in timeline but should be done by this weekend. I should also have at least one heavy mech I could deploy. Arrival time round 3.
Rob, correct me if I am wrong here, but if Reaper is recalled from training, doesn't it come in without ammo and all sorts of other inconvenient things? Or is that only when attacked in the field.
Either way, Reaper will officially be recalled from training and assigned to Scout since the Scout lances will need the cover while they repair (if they get their mechs out).
The campaign rules page 33 says that units in training may get hit by opfor and would not have ammunition. It doesn't say anything about being called for reinforcements.

That's only if they're attacked during Training.  Roles can only be reassigned after at least a week, so technically speaking you assigned Reaper to Training on 1 May, and then cannot reassign them until 7 May, but are free to reassign them as you see fit starting on 8 May.  Once they're reassigned (to whatever else), they're no longer in Training and thus aren't vulnerable to the Bad Things from getting hit during maneuvers.

Lets reroll light.

Still Moonless Night.

3 rerolls remaining.

I know someone mentioned they had a range advantage, but that force is almost equally split between short/long/mix. Small map lets them bring everything to the fight immediately. If we play along with Zell, we can trap them into at least a few long vs short matchups where we'd be able to pound them before they have range. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Which will be difficult as is since Dragon will be the only lance that starts on the board with the rest coming in as reinforcements. There will be 16 allied units vs 15 of theirs. What I would like is to keep the bugs jumping as much as possible, while trying to keep the slower mechs out of reach as long as possible with my units fending off the heavier damaging units. The first 3-4 turns will be rough.

The clans’ ER MLs have a range of 15, their Ultra AC/20s have a range of 12 and virtually every oh as longer range weapons. They’re not faster than 6/9/x and with the exception of the Executioner moving 4/6(8)/0 and the Hunchback IIC they’re moving 5/8 at a minimum. I don’t see them getting strung out and once in range they’ll stay there. They’ll be in range before most of ours will be given the range on their long range weapons.  Happy to get clarity on your position though.
