Dan has the nod pending Rob approval for proxy PC player of his choosing to run it for Dan. If not discussion will continue. This post will be edited to reflect.

My personal opinion is that proxying for a deployed lance is different than proxying for a reinforcement. I’m fine with the former as they were already set to play and it can be harder to get those pieces swapped around now that we’re deployed as companies. To me it feels like a disservice to the people who are showing up to have someone getting benefits while not being there when someone there would otherwise have been selected.

I agree its probably a no. Just so you all know dictating a mission solely because of the request in next months game has hampered my reinforcement choices and I'm not pleased. As its the two birthdays and unit co I will let it slide as an order by said co. I did not complain however and get 2 reinforcements and the plans discussed called for certain styled lance or similar to make it work. Now I don't get my determined first or 2nd or 3rd choice and im back to reassessing all available again. There is a certain degree of suck it up yes and a certain degree of there is a reason for requests being made.

It was certainly not my intent to cause you or anyone else any problems with my request for next month.  I had not recalled/did not know that Paul and I shared the same birthday.  Had my 50th birthday landed on any day around the game day rather than on it I wouldn't have worried about it.  I can certainly withdraw the request so as to not penalize you for this mission.  I thought it'd be nice to play my PC on the milestone.  It's not worth pissing people off to do it though.

The problem with Kato going off and having a birthday party on another planet is that miraculously he built a unit of people that all share the same birthday and not providing them cake and ice cream when celebrating all of their birthdays at once certainly violates the Ares Conventions.

OK, fair warning. My last day of work at this job is the 25th, and therefore I'm working the full shift, not a half-shift like I normally do, which means that I'll be getting to the game site at about 4:30am and getting <3hrs sleep prior to the game setup.  What this means for you, the fair reader, is that you need to not be asking me basic questions about the scenario on Saturday morning, and you need to have actually read the scenario rules and conditions BEFORE THE GODDAMN GAME. I will not be in any condition to answer your questions on Saturday morning, and frankly I'll be lucky to be conscious enough to play my own lance at all.

To that end, I am hereby nominating Hat as the GM for the session; insofar as he will need to run init and keep the game running at a good pace.  Hat is nominated, because he is the only player who is 100% guaranteed to be playing OPFOR as of this posting. He may of course delegate as he sees fit. But I will not be in a condition to do competent GMing things on Saturday.
