Lyran Guard Jenner
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:41:20 PM »

Hi folks,
I finally finished my BTU minichange mini- about a month late, but at least its done.  This fellow didn't want any assaults so I thought this would be pretty far from an assault.  I wish I would have done better but I'm rather rusty and usually don't get much time for any one session.  But I am planning on sticking with it as I do enjoy it.

Nate, it looks good. Better than the pic that you sent me. Nice shading and only thing I could say is maybe a touch more highlighting. Hard to tell with the pic. At least you have it done and in the mail. I am still waiting on mine to arrive.

Thanks, guys.

I thought about highlighting it but I was afraid I might over-do it and have to start over. If I had started the left side with a greyish white, i could have tried some brighter white highlights  but my starting white was too white to try that, i thought  i thought if i highlighted the blue side very much then it would look unbalanced next to the plain white. I also wasn't sure how to highlight up to the blue/white demarcation line without making it look funny.  I also had a Shadowhawk going as a backup. I tried drybrushing it with GW Ice Blue but that was too greenish. But at least I finished something for a change.

Hey Nate, did you get your mini sent off? If so did you post on the forum that you have done so. The guy running the exchange is trying to get the  list updated to see how many minis have to be finished yet.

Phil,
I did email him and say it was going to ship the next day but I didn't write back to say it actually went. I'll email him again to make sure he knows.

You get your mini yet?

Nate

I did finally get my mini. It was about a month late. It was a Valkyrie painted for Davion Guard, I think.

Well at least the guy finally came through. I need to keep my eyes on that forum in case they do another one.
