Rob, what would be the pathway to getting lam certification on a pilot? My guess is that it would need the weight class cert of the LAM already, 10 xp for lam qual, then 10 xp to unlock 5 asf piloting and 10 xp to unlock 6 asf gunnery, then decrease your skill ratings through xp as normal

Functionally, in-game, there isn't one.  It's something that would happen "in the academy", prior to game.  The Watsonian reason is because "LAM pilot" is a type classification within AtB that cannot be modified or changed.  In order for someone to be assigned to a LAM inside the game, you have to have the "MechWarrior/Aerospace Pilot" role, otherwise you simply can't be assigned to the LAM, which means that the LAM in your lance won't have a "pilot", and won't be counted towards your lance mass which is part of the algorithm which determines OPFOR mass and type.

The highlighted pilot is the only LAM pilot the Rangers currently have. Note her role, as compared to everyone else.  Also take a look at LT Smit from Blitzkrieg, and note his role.  Roles simply aren't changable within AtB - they're given when the character is created and only then.

Would it be possible, starting Dec 1st in game, to have Jordans lance take over Ryans slot? Given that Ryan will not be playing for a while, might be a good idea to have him start getting XP and salvage to catch up some.

Rob, does Natural Grace's +1 bonus to most PSRs apply to gravity overextension PSR like those generated by a Nova jumping 8 in M1 of Ikarus?

Follow up question. Given Xotl's errata, does the Stable quirk apply to the same situation?

That thread was made in 2013. The current ruling for "Stable" in BMM 5th edition is:
 STABLE (2 POINTS)
’Mech designs such as the Dragon are exceptionally stable,
receiving a –1 Target Number modifier when forced to make a
Piloting Skill Roll as a result of a physical attack.

Even bg.battletech.com not showing stable being anything as such recent.

Thanks for the clarification. I've updated my notes, and thankfully it never came up last game.

What are we considered in right now being it was a LA world but is now clan for markets

Also no I am not asking for clan penalties to be lifted if its clan space for those who might be thinking it lol

Also on another note

I have an inquiry regarding reinforcement jj eligibility.

There are mechs like the arctic cheetah, Jenner, shadowhawk, gunslinger that do not have matching jump to walk profiles.

Would it nullify the jump credit for those mechs toward reinforcement timer as they dont match?

I would argue that a mech like the gunslinger at even 2 jj would still be fair to apply credit. The tonnage cost was paid in an increment of more than a single jj. There was discussion prior as it states if all units are jump capable but then we had discussion that it couldn't just have 1. I can't remember if the minimum was 3 or not. Might not even need to worry about it.

Can the Kanazuchi ride on the Bandit? I know they cannot ride on omnimechs but was unsure of vehicles, now that its relevant.

Can/will bondsman perform physicals?

Take with salt, but my understanding of the Techmanual is that Assault BA cannot make Anti-mech attacks or ride omnis as mechanized Armor. If the bandit has a 8 ton Battle Armor bay, they can ride inside the tank, but not the outside.

That's almost certainly accurate. We're using the Advanced Battle Armor Weight Table from TacOps, whatever that happens to say. Should be in TO:AR, somewhere around page 154-55.

I cannot imagine they would.  Earning their place as a warrior again after being taken as bondsman would restore their honor.  Not even the dezgra bandit caste is likely to use such dishonorable tactics as physical attacks.  Inner Sphere barbarians, well honestly, can you really expect more of them?  A Clanner use a physical attack though?  My how the mighty have fallen.

No rule prevents it.  However, you will be mercilessly mocked as dezgra by other Clan characters at the game table.

(My Clan warrior will not be using physicals for a significant in-game time period, but that is a personal RP choice.)

IIRC, the minimum was 3 jump, with a specific exemption for 3/5 assault mechs built with only 2 Jump MP to account for the Gunslinger.

Apologies, wrong post. I meant to quote the one asking about what table to use for acquisitions given we are in clan space.
