Well, I've gone along with far dumber plans and I don't have anything better to propose, so I'm in ;D.

Yeh, it's a little complicated, but what the heck.

Okay Bryan, time to get Banzai that communication with the weapons lab.  Maybe they have a dropship........

Do we have any idea what forces might be left or is this airfield in the city that we are presently occupying?
Do we have to capture a priest? Can we just send out in the message that the Bishop so & so was travelling through and we are escorting him to safety or whatever. If the city is not overly large, there may not be any priest higher than a priest. Or we see if there is a priest that would be sympathetic to our cause and give us the info to make it look like we have a Cardinal in transport to New Avalon and that he pose as said Cardinal. We have our own holy man just like Camachos Cabarellos.  :D

Ok, we know there are troops @ both the HPG and drop pads. We can use our air to drop bombs, but we need to take out the Riflemen first.
Do we split our force to take on the 2 lances at the same time, or do we advance on the dropships and then move to the HPG?
If the first, then after securing the dropships we can leave a force to work to get the ships ready to launch while the rest of the force moves off to secure the HPG. After taking the HPG, whom ever is going to trasmit the message will do so.
If we are going to assault both at the same time, we need to make sure that the proper people are in the correct groups. Don't need Joe Blow, who is going to send out a message not in the group that assaults the HPG. Just some ideas being cleaned out of the closet. Getting dusty up there.

We'll probably need to hit both at the same time.  If we take too long capturing the HPG, then they could get a message off saying that we've captured a dropship and that said dropship should probably be shot down if it attempts to leave the planet.  Alternatively, if we take too long capturing the dropships, then they could get their weapons online and we just don't have the firepower to deal with that.

It occures to me that there might be a simpler way of doing this.  Since Babcock is a friend of Amaris, Amaris might want him back.  Therefore we get Babcock on the radio, and have him order that the dropship be cleared, and a pilot and crew provided unarmed.  We can have Marshall check the ship for bombs.  We can tell them that we will be keeping Babcock as colateral until we reach our destination, and the they will provide JUMPSHIP capability to get us there.  We will then put Babcock in a escape pod and space him after we confirm that the ship is not a Q-ship.  This can get us a crew and pilot and transport off planet, but it has its own risks.  I still like the first plan, but this one is slightly more sane.  Slightly.

Now how to motivate Babcock to follow along with our plan if we choose this one.

Using a Shadow Hawk and a body of water seemed effective before.

Handing him to Marshall after pointing out that he's taking the place of armor on the left arm of the Champion?

We could always appeal to his better nature, or failing that his sense of self preservation.

Another thing we could do is attempt to get assylum with the Davion warship near Io, and offer up a bona-fide war criminal with tape/friend of amaris they may want to return to him/shiny new phx LAM they might be interested in 'transporting' out of system.  This is assuming that we can get to the HPG intact and ping them, and there isnt any sort of setup rescue anywhere for an SLDF warship popping in and out of system to get us.  Communcations Skill roll, what is the refire rate on an HPG?  could we concivably get two messages off in quick succession?

Communications roll, MoS: 3.  You're looking at about a 1 hour recharge rate on a class-A HPG, and a 12 hour recharge wait on a B-class HPG , assuming an uninterrupted power draw from a dedicated fusion plant.   No way to really know what type you're looking at until you can get inside.
