What we are doing
« on: August 28, 2012, 12:18:20 AM »

Alright, since a large portion of the player base 1) doesn't want to play Solaris or B)cannot make several games, we are trashing the Solaris league.  Instead, to give Rob a break, we will be playing a linked campaign game.

So for all your playing pleasure, we will be playing a historical game.  We will be examining one of the darkest days of that all inner-sphere mercenary company, the Gray Death Legion.  Its 3056, and what remains of the Gray Death Legion is trapped on Glengarry retreating from Skye Rebel forces that have landed on and taken Halidon.

Unfortunately, Grayson isn't there.  His son Alexander is....

(Players needed for both sides, scenario and mech lists to be posted in the next few days)

WOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!   ;D

If we're picking sides, sign me up for GDL. If we'll be mixing it up from week to week, that's cool too.

I will absolutely jump onboard with this.  GDL please; last canon merc group I dealt with was nuking the Kell Hounds.  Karma demands that I play the mercs this time.

As a basis yes, although I will be making some changes.  Like using mechs other than 3025 ones.

Not too many, though, right?

I had a couple hours while Elessar was taking a nap today to paint; I now have the following GDL minis:

BattleDroids Marauder - Grayson
Archer - Alex
Highlander - Davis McCall
Shadow Hawk - Lori

Warhammer - Khaled
Wolverine - Delmar Clay
Crusader - Charles Bear
Thunderbolt - Turner St. Dennis

Griffin - Gomez de Villar
Phoenix Hawk - Tracy Kent
Centurion - Catlin DeVries
Stinger - Christine Wellerman

All Unseen; it seemed more appropriate that way.  They just need basing and decals.

A couple hours?!? What the.. that is some seriously fast painting man.

Anyway, I've had a GDL Stinger (complete) and Locust (mostly complete) painted up forever that are also available. And since they use urban camo, black and white and anything in between will be useful.

TWO HOURS for an entire unseen company? I guess they were already assembled and primed at least?

Assembled yes (except for some repair work on the SHD, PXH, and T-bolt), primed no.

Granted, since the GDL uses a grey-on-grey scheme and I had grey primer available...

Grey primer, splotch on off-grey, mud wash, main drybrush highlight, second drybrush highlight, 4-tone canopy jeweling, weapon painting & jeweling.  That was all.

Anybody have GDL unit insignia?  I can get there at 10am on Saturday and apply the decals and a layer of varnish at the store...
