Gen Con 2013 housing
« on: February 10, 2013, 07:26:21 PM »

Hi guys,
I know that it is real early, but since badge purchasing and block housing has already gone live, it's a good bet that the downtown hotels are filled already.  This being the case I have started looking for housing around the loop.

Last year Raven X (Andy), Tempo (John) and I stayed at the Motel 6 at Emerson and 465.  I have checked that place again and the price for a King+Queen for 4 nights for 4 people is $219.96 + tax.

The hotel wasn't bad.  It wasn't 4 star, but it wasn't the 0 star dive I stayed in 2 years ago.  If anyone is interested please let me know.  I like to get these things solidified early so I don't have to worry about it later.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for asking Steve. The wife and I plan to leave the kids with her parents and go this year together, so we'll be looking for our own room. But it's also good to know where everyone is staying in case she decides to turn in early and I need a ride.  ;D

Steve, I may be in this year, if you don't mind the fact that I'd have to be in ridiculously early to set up events.

If I am able to make it, I have accomodations. Not going to jinx myself any more than I already have.
Some asshole plowed into me Sat. The car is going to be seen by the adjuster on Thurs. Hopefully it will be totaled.

I wouldn't mind at all.  In fact on Thursday I'm going in ridiculously early to get a good parking spot because I'm bringing all of my GeoHex for my events Thurs evening.

Quick clarification request.  That $219.96.  Is that "per person", or in total?

That is total for the weekend.

The breakdown is 39.99/night for Wed & Thurs, 45.99 for Fri & Sat plus about $12/ night for 4 people.

Of course there is that pesky 17% tax rate. on top (not figured in yet).

I think one person was $171 and change + tax.

OK, my housing stipend will cover a quarter of that with no problem - the rest can go to get you back for gas/parking money.  Just making sure.
