Arcanis Kickstarter ending on the 28th - worth getting in on
« on: January 19, 2014, 07:18:44 PM »

All,

The Kickstarter for Arcanis: The Cradle of Empires (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1418216834/arcanis-the-cradle-of-empires-the-first-city-sourc) wraps up on January 28th.  It's an excellent fantasy RPG with a very strong world setting.  The original 190 page Codex Arcanis book that details the setting is available to download for free (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/55802/Codex-Arcanis).

The kickstarter has already achieved all of the original stretch goals including the update of one of the source books to the new system from 3.5, and others.  For $15 you get the new book and all of the stretch goals.  For an extra $40 you get all of the other books so 8 in all.

Arcanis: World of the Shattered Empires Core book
Codex of Heroes
Forged in Magic I
Forged in Magic II: Treasures of the Ages
Arcanis Bestiary
The Knightly Order of the Phoenix
Plus the 2 from this Kickstarter
The Cradle of Empires
Ssethregore: In the Coils of the Serpent Empire

If we get to the next level which is less than $2,000 away we get another supplement detailing one of the more mysterious races and their culture.

This is a game my regular group and I playtested, so it's one I'm well acquainted with.

If you have questions, feel free to drop me a PM.  If you want to get a sense for things, download and check out the Codex for free.  Part of what makes that interesting is that the Codex is written from the perspective of the respective nations, so not everything is true.

Anyway, take a look, see what you think.  Even at $15 you're getting two source books you could adapt and that's a price that's hard to beat.

With a sweep of his...
