IC] 19 November, 2821: Fly Like an Eagle
« on: October 25, 2014, 02:11:11 PM »

The battle at Chamberlain Crossing proved to be the last gasp for the Rasmussen Elite.  Only 3 units survived the slaughter.  A book,”16 Minutes of Hell”, was written by one of the survivors and will remain one of the very few documents that mention anything about the Wolverines in years to come.

Clans Snow Raven and Wolverine are ordered to combine forces for the last major opponent in the Northern campaign on Circe.  Isolated on an island continent to the east, the L’Isle des Aigles [Isle of the Eagles] had time to prepare for the clans’ assault.  The Davion affiliated group prepared a series of defensive fortifications that severely challenged Snow Raven airpower and both clans ground forces.  The Eagles managed to avoid being drawn into a large battle with the faster Wolverines while giving as good as they got in the air.

General James Longstreet and his 2nd Major George Pickett, gathered the rest of their ground troops together to make a break out from the capital city of Hamilton.  Wolverine scouts spotted their movements and relayed their course to sa-Khan Joyce Merrell of the Snow Ravens, who set up defensive positions at Constan’s Cemetery Ridge.  Unfortunately, a dense fog enshrouded the area, dropping visibility to less than ½ kilometer.  Air forces on both sides were grounded.  Communications were also breaking down due to ore deposits in the area.  While Khan Merrell received information of the enemies course and was able to set up an anvil position, she did not receive data on the number of enemy forces......

OOC] Last battle, there were several mechs downed but as I recall only one cored and not repairable [Travis' Stag].  Is this correct?

Gurdel, at the briefing before heading out to his forces; asks the Commanding Officer "Has any reconniasance of the area been done of the area that we are moving to. Is it hilly, wooded, open flat land? Any info would be helpful. We know that a heavy fog has moved in, but we have been pushing the Eagles into this fight. We finally have them in the open and no where else to run. Surely there has been some recon of the area."

Hawker, for the first time in 70 years has been issued a mech with ecm gear.  He immediately gets to work setting up protocols to capitalize on this.  He works to create an IFF scrambler/reverser, a method of whiting out communication frequencies, and learning the finer points of sensor and communication ghosts and spoofing.

If he has any time left over, he tries to assist in decoding communication intercepts to get the star commander his 'recon'.

SaKhan Hallis pulls up the satellite image of Hamilton and the surrounding area.  "As you can see, Star Captain, the Eagle forces are moving west toward the ridge.  The terrain is becoming more wooded with rolling hills as they head west.  SaKhan Merrell should be setting up just west of the River Running between Round Top Hill and the cemetery on Constan's Ridge.
