Excel spreadsheet for maintenance, repair, and refit
« on: March 11, 2017, 10:49:43 AM »

Attached is a spreadsheet for calculating maintenance, repair, and refit numbers.

Green cells indicate human input required. Most inputs are arranged with drop down menus. Most repairs/refits do not require quantity numbers. The exceptions are armor and heatsink refits and armor repairs.

Known issues/missing information:
1. Internal structure refit time is wrong (each mech will be unique, so no single value works). An internal refit requires stripping everything, replacing each location, and then reinstalling every piece of equipment. (Just buy the dang upgraded mech.....)
2. Changing cockpit types requires installing 2x life support and 2x sensors as well.
3. Upgrading unit quality time is not defined, so 900 minutes has been used arbitrarily. Edit: refurbishment is a flat two weeks. I'll update this in the next version
4. Changing myomer type has been set to 1800 minutes base time based on replacing all of the actuators (including the hip and shoulder actuators/replacing limbs...)
5. Some constraints are not enforced, including refit facility type (ie the code will calculate numbers for a refit requiring a factory when you tell it you are in a dropship bay.)

Edit:
6. Shoulder and hip actuator replacement also involve internal structure replacement for the limb. That means other actuators, weapons, equipment, and armor need to be installed

Edit 2:
7. The current version does not address the modifiers for true custom mechs. True customs (as opposed to kits to change between models) incur a +2 TN modifier and take twice as much time.

New version inbound soon TM.
.

If you find any errors, let me know.

Rob, if you have input on what you want any particular numbers to be for the campaign, let me know.

I cant access the doc
Could you give me some more information?

It is an Excel spreadsheet (2013 .xlsx) that should open in Excel 2007 or later.
Do you have security settings set high for internet files?

Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, which version? Without Excel, one of the Microsoft Office programs, you won't be able to open it.

When I get back to my computer tonight, I'll see if opening it in Google docs works correctly. I don't expect it to though, because I am using some of the more unusual features to automatically select modifiers and such.

It seems to work in Libreoffice which is an open source office package.  If you don't have Microsoft office.

The Libreoffice is appears to be doing everything the spreadsheet has.  I haven't tried entering my units yet.  Just got the program loaded on my tablet last night.

Thanks for the spreadsheet, it will make things a lot easier for me to keep up on my units since I have never done this kind of a campaign. (^_^)b

Yeah, last time I ran an AccountTech campaign all of the details and modifiers drove me batty. So I made the original version of this spreadsheet. This time I added the refits, but there are a lot more caveats and exceptions in refits, so I could only code so much of it.

Edit: Rob's campaign guide for this campaign has removed the need for maintenance rolls. All maintenance rolls are autopass.

Is there an easy way to "reset" all the previously entered data to have a blank worksheet?

Not really. Eventually I'll get bored enough to make it a proper form, but that hasn't happened yet.

I normally just save as a new document to avoid the problem. You could also download it again.  :-\

Note, Rob has chosen to go to BMR for repair and refit. I will create a new calculator after my copy of BMR arrives (got rid of it when I moved last... Doh!).
