Here's a modded Marauder II (reseen) and Atlas II
« on: November 08, 2010, 07:50:58 PM »

Here's a slightly modded, poorly lit, poorly photographed Marauder II. It looks pretty good in person, but the pics are bad. I tend to like dirty, grimy mechs, and not the factory fresh, pristine look.

There are several mods here. The waist is magnetic to allow for torso twisting, the missle ports have been covered, a new torso gun has been installed, and the lower arms have been chopped, drilled, and twisted (Travis, 2010).

A cookie to the first person that can ID the torso gun. HINT, you all most likely have several of them laying around the house.

Wow, is this the mech you bought on Saturday?  That was fast.

Does this mod represent a canon variant, or your own custom design?  If it's custom, mind posting the specs?

It kind of looks like you were trying to turn the 4H into a 4S, which begs the question, why not just use the 4S mini?

Nice job on the paint and the mods, especially like the cockpit glass.  Is it stable enough on the table with the magnets, or does the torso tend to fall off?

I would use it to represent any MAD, but it generally is supposed to appear more like a 4s or a 5W. I like the look of the traditional top mounted, small linkage torso gun instead of the solid mount like on the 4S mini. I thought that if I used a 4S as the basis for this, that it might look like there was something missing if I chose not to use the provided torso gun. Also,I got this mini -4H version- because they had it a Sci Fi city and I like to buy something there if it is something I might want, since they allow us to use the space.

The cockpit did seem to turn out better than my normal standard-maybe I'm getting better?

The magnet is pretty solid, you can pick it up, move it on a map with no fear of it falling apart or even turn it sideways to inspect it with no fear. But if it is sideways and you shake it a bit, it might come apart. Also, the magnet lets me display it in this pose, which I like alot, but not have to play it in this pose, which could get confusing -see unseen wolverine-

Any guesses on the Torso gun source?

Thats a nice mini!  The movable torso would be very cool and useful, well done.

Here's my modded Atlas II

Mods include- repositioned arms at the shoulders to meet up with the top of the shoulders, magnetic waist and arms, gauss rifle in torso in place of the LRM 20, extra detail added to back and sides of legs, and extra detail added to the top of the feet.

It is a great mini, although my heart skipped a couple of beats when I lost my right arm, and off it came.  The pictures do not show it in full glory.
