This is an ugly mission. I'm glad there are some minefields, might be the only significant damage the OpFor can do. On the other hand, should be a good one for the unit, as far as minimizing losses.
Double check Ice on turn 10...
If they don't get off by turn 10...

Yeah, honestly, I'm not having much hope in this being a "fun" game.  The downside here is the Capellan RATs are slanted towards Vees, and any enviro conditions which hurt Mechs, hurt Vees WAY worse. So since we're fighting Capellans, this sort of slanted fight becomes possible.  However, all of the other mission options were even worse (in terms of being a pointless fight; there was a mission where you would have had to stop 1 lance of VTOLs from getting off the 20x20 map; that was the entire OPFOR.  Literally no point in playing).

Over/under is that we're done by 2pm, since the PCs will just jump forward as far as possible every turn and count on the enviro condition modifiers to Gunnery to save them.  OPFOR can't even cheese the scenario by turning around Turn 1 and driving as fast as possible to the far board edge and force the PCs to chew through tanks (which can't be charged off the board) to physically exit the scenario, because they're going to be so bogged down by snow.

Might be more interesting than you think with Ice.

Paul has his Vindicator and Grasshopper at 4/6/4, so they won't be able to jump all of the way before Ice, plus starting 4 turns later than the rest. In 5 turns they get 30 hexes (max) across the board before it freezes. Then they have 21 hexes to cross with SPRs all of the way.
The 5/8/5's in the starting two lances will get to run the map (51 hexes long) in 7 turns and exit on Turn 8 if they run on the rightmost hex line.
4/6/4's in the starting lances can also make it to the edge in 9 turns and exit on turn 10.
Anyone who fails a PSR...

Rob, Will there be a PSR on movement to leave the board?

No.  That's pretty much always true; environmental conditions apply upon entering a hex, and you aren't entering an on-board hex if you're moving off-board.

This will be fun. I have looked into distances as well. Assuming I can come to the top of the south border from either east or west, it would be about 4 turns for cicada and 6 for cataphract with the other two lagging behind. That was assuming I ran each turn

Entering on the northern extent of the southern mapsheet will save your bacon. You reinforce on turn 4, run in onto the middle map sheet and have 5 more turns to cover the distance before Ice hits. Gotta watch the Vanilla and Brandon... Now you only have to cross 35 hexes with a minimum of one turn, for 6 turns of running on 4/6's, which is the magic number to hit the edge without running into Ice. Congratulations, you are going to make it without Ice.  Or are you?

Just to be clear, I expect the OpFor to get roflstomped, Wile E. Coyote style, but we can try to inflict damage.

I think I missed this.  Who is bringing OPFOR sheets?  Bring the sheets matching the minis you're bringing?

Ah, I missed that that was the list for minis AND sheets.  I thought it was just for providing minis.

No worries.   (^_^)b

My printer, after many great years of printing opfors and law school papers, has finally decided to join the great scrapheap in the sky.  Could someone please print my current Ostsol and Javelin sheets?
