General Discussion / Re: 3D Printed Mechs on Camospecs?
« on: March 01, 2018, 12:45:53 PM »
I can respond to some things. To post to Camospecs.com you do have to be an artist. Also, our site is not available to be posted to and we are actively working on getting a new site up and running. (Time and money). Joining Camospecs doesn't mean that you have to paint for projects. Our thought is that if you don't want to paint for some projects, why would you try to join. We are not looking for someone that just wants the title. We don't have to buy our own minis, I have always been reimbursed with minis if I use my own. I have went to IWM and bought minis to get a head start but was sent minis from IWM to make up for what I used. Our grading is done by our artists. You submit your pictures and we critique your work. Not only are we looking at the painting but the pictures have to be in focus and the background is also critiqued. Dealing with the members of Camospecs is no problem at all. Everyone works together and gets the work out that needs to be done. Ray just gives us what the company is wanting and we work it out amongst ourselves.
3-D minis have been done but not posted to Camospecs. They were done to peak interest in some of the new models. I personally got to paint one at Gencon a few years back. They are done by a sculptor that CGL hired. I personally don't like the 3-D's, too rough. With a little love you can make them look good. I have also painted some greens from IWM.
I would encourage anyone to try for Camospecs if you feel that you can put some paint on minis as good as they can. Just don't submit if all you are looking for is to be known as a Camospec artist.

For all info, I found some plastic minis. These are unpainted, I believe they are the starter set and some of the lance packs. These are the Introductory set minis. Also have some Clan mechs that are painted. I have some Chessex bases. Rob had wanted some but I guess he found another source and never heard from. Will bring these on Sat. also. If you want to buy, $2 a mini. Painted would like to get $10 a miniature. I really need to get my miniature storage problem under control. Hopefully see you all on Sat.

Don't know who to direct this to, there is a guy on face book that is looking to get into BT. His name is Alex Kara. He stated that he has requested acceptance to this forum. That is, if you guys want him.

General Discussion / Mechs for sale.
« on: September 12, 2017, 09:50:29 AM »
I have a lot of unassembled and assembled mechs that I am looking to get rid of. Seen Brian last night at Game Time and he has offered to bring the mechs to one of your games. Before putting them on ebay, I would like to give you guys a chance to purchase. Will want $2.00 a miniature. Payable to Brian in cash. Don't have time to paint these. Will still be painting for IWM and Catalyst Games as projects come up.
I will send $20.00 with him to pay for the M-10 that Branden had bought. Sorry that we haven't been able to hook up. Any questions, direct them here.

Check with Karl. They have probably six tables. Several are set up for BA. If he knows in advance, he can make sure one is set-up. I am gaming Monday evening in our escalation league, so won't be able to make it this weekend.

They are looking good, Travis. Just got a squad back on to the table. Figure it is time to get started on the next army.
Played Brian last night, he kicked my ass royally.

Branden, I will look and see what I have unpainted. I am in the process of selling all my BT minis. If I have what you are looking for, we can make arrangements. This could be for whom ever may need a mini.

Won't be attending this. Won't be able to attend Cinchona this year as the wife is having knee surgery a few days before that weekend.

I will throw my 2 cents in here. My burnout on BT has very little to do with CGL. It is just something that doesn't hold my interest anymore.
The campaign style didn't thrill me. Playing one on one and all seeming to play the same mission wasn't for me very much fun. I preferred teams and trying to accomplish a goal. Just me. Also, the time to complete a game was just to long, even at the beginning of joining into the group. I get there @ 10 ish, sit around til 11 or later and then game. After an hour we break for lunch. I can't commit to playing much past 5 pm. 10 to 5 = 7 hrs. Not all gaming.
Brian's comment about the ability to talk and catch up on things during the game made for an enjoyable day.
Played Bolt Action Monday Evening for almost 3 hrs. and conversed along with gaming.
I guess my points are just me rambling but while I was gaming with you guys I appreciated everything you did Rob. I personally don't know how you have kept it up. I still check in here and enjoy reading the goings on.
